Disappointing. Off The Waffle was, to say the least, an expensive disaster. The service was lackluster, at best. When our food was brought to the table, the waitress barely spoke and set the plates down without identifying the orders or even asking if there was anything else she could get us. She never checked back with us, and in fact, was our final interaction with the staff at all. The food was a horrible disappointment. I got "THE GOAT IN HEADLIGHTS - Liège Waffle topped with chèvre (goat cheese), organic avocado, fresh organic basil, two sunny side up organic eggs" The waffle was cold, the goat cheese and basil practically non-existent, the eggs were not sunnyside up and overcooked and it came drizzled with syrup which was not in the description. I ordered this specifically because it was the only item that's description didn't have syrup, but alas, there the syrup was. I barely at half of it. We also ordered "THE SELF FULFILLING PROPHECY - Liège Waffle topped with one sunny side up organic farm fresh egg (oozing yolk*), nitrate/nitrite-free bacon, real Vermont maple syrup" with an extra egg. That must have been one special hen because that single egg was $3.00! This dish was also cold when it arrived at our table. Food and service, not so great but wait, there's more! We had to get a key to go out the back door into a hallway to get to the bathroom. No big deal except that the door to the restaurant locked behind us and we couldn't get back in. We tried the main exit thinking we would just walk around the building but apparently no one had unlocked that door either so there we were...trapped. We tried calling the restaurant to have them let us back in and could hear their phone ringing but no one answered it. Finally we resorted to banging on the door until another customer came to let us in. Pretty sure that whole scenario was a major fire code violation. At the end of it all, I would say that Off The Waffle is seriously off their game. My wallet was $39 lighter and my tummy was anything but full. Don't waste your time or money.

Edit: it's not overly crowded anymore. ...This OJ is so delicious. I've been by here a few times for brunch, and it's nowhere near as busy as it used to be. Granted I haven't been here in the weekends, but y'all should definitely come by. Oh and the ice cream waffle sandwich is so good. (Food quality) * Best liege waffles I've had (the waffle itself). Bacon and eggs were also pretty good. The syrup was a little too sweet for me, but I doubt most people would mind. They do have gluten free options as well, though they charge more for them. (Service, atmosphere, and seating) * Plenty of seating inside, and outside. Staff & service were pretty good, even though they were swamped. You have to get your own cups, napkins, and utensils though. (Pricing) *A little too pricey for me to frequent the place, but it's a good place to get brunch on the weekend (like after waking up with your date, Or a good place to bring family that's visiting). (Portion size) *Portions were reasonable for me, though it could be too much for some people. That's not normally an issue for most people though. (It looks small In my picture, but TRUST ME when I say that it's more filling that it looks at first glance) (Negatives) Main Issue I had, was that wait times can get pretty long during their busy hours. I'm also not a huge fan of getting my own cups/utensils, because that means other people would've had the chance to put their hands on the silverware.

A Delightful Brunch at Off The Waffle in Eugene! Upon my recent visit to Off The Waffle in Eugene, I was met with an experience that was as delightful as it was flavorful. The service was commendable, with the manager going above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. Despite the minor inconvenience of requiring a bathroom key, which was a tad frustrating, the overall ambiance and attention to customer happiness stood out. The dish that graced our table was a visual and gastronomic pleasure: a perfectly crisped waffle lay beneath a generous layer of crisp bacon, ripe avocado slices, a beautifully fried egg, and a dusting of spices that suggested a thoughtful culinary touch. The experience was not just in the eating but also in the presentation, which was executed with care. While the need for a bathroom key might be a point of contention for some, it is a small blip in an otherwise stellar dining experience. "Off The Waffle" is a must-visit for anyone looking for an exceptional brunch spot in Eugene. The service, quality, and ambiance combine to create a meal that is, quite simply, great.

The food is excellent and realistic to the original waffle served in Liege. The service could use significant improvement. Maybe just a case of the Mondays??? Arrive at 0815 and I’m told that there not open until 8 by worker #1. Ordered 2 kids waffles (waffle, egg and apple) with worker #2 and get two waffles on one plate by worker #3. Two kids are now fighting over said one plate and worker 3 is totally unaware. Thinking I’m getting more food on separate plates I wait without eating for about 3 min as all workers are now in the back. openly discuss with children washing hands in the restroom at with worker #2 at check out. We all walk back to the main building (toilets are in the main buildings hallway) to find we need a key. Worker #2 is like ohh I wondered if you needed the key. asked worker #2 about rest of kids meal and she says said sorry and that she’ll bring out the rest. She brings out a second plate. thinking that the rest will come I wait 5 minutes then ask worker 2 at the front about the eggs/apple. Server said she only charged me for a plain waffle. This made things make more sense (except the one plate). She kindly offered to correct the error and bring the egg/apple for free which was very generous. due to them making up for their mistakes I ordered additional items to go for the family at the hotel. Ordered 2 waffles from worker #3 and waited 20 min while all staff stayed in the back. Rang the bell and asked if the order was ready and the first worker said “ohh I didn’t know this was yours”. It had been sitting in the back for who knows how long.

Overall there is very little awareness of customer service, employees go to the back often leaving present customers (not just me) wondering how to get help, and there is really poor communication between workers. Overall encounter was over an hour with no improvement in workers shaking off the Mondays.

Food is on point, but they need basic customer service training. I’d give them a second chance because the...

There really is little to no point in placing an order online for pickup at this location. I recommend not going to this location at all, for that matter.

On three separate occasions I have arrived shortly before the time of the order, been told it would take 15 minutes, proceeded to wait around 3 times that, all while being told it was almost ready. Meanwhile, I am watching people with orders I have confirmed had a later pickup than mine walk out the door (including orders that were substantially larger than mine). Lying to a customer's face when they can tell you are lying is just not a great way to run a business. The real kicker was when they realized they messed up and offered me a free orange juice, which at that point was more insulting than anything else. That cup of juice cost the business pennies and that is the gesture when they make a mistake? Jokes on me for always leaving a good tip, I guess.

They truly do not have a good system to make sure they are actually providing adequate service to their customers, at all. It seems clear to me at this point that the issue is as much the way the business is run as it was the employees themselves, as this issue has happened repeatedly and I have witnessed it happen to others while I have waited. Ultimately, I will not be returning to this location and will be advising others not to do so.

Go to the location in South Eugene where you can get the same good waffles, but with actually acceptable customer service that makes you feel like they want...
