I think the problem is they use WAY TOO MUCH buttercream on everything. Their frosting is more like a wax coating than cake frosting. It coats your entire mouth, your teeth and even your throat. You will need to brush your teeth, use mouthwash and drink a hot beverage just to get the waxiness to go away.

Customer service is a little on the lax side here. They don't answer their phone at all, either. It's also one of those places where the staff aren't super welcoming and they act like it's your privilege to interact with them. They also have zero interest in operating efficiently when there is a long line. You can wait in line for 15 minutes and if they managed their systems you'd have only been in line for 5-10 minutes. The staff doesn't really have the time of day to shoot the shit with you, either. For these reasons, I do not recommend this establishment as a good place to take a date.

So those are the not-so-great things... What's good here? The best things to be had here include but are not limited to the seasonal Apple-Cranberry Pie, the seasonal Tres Leches Cake, and their fruit pies generally. Their pastries are great. Their morning pastries are great.

The cakes are really not bad per se, but they are so-so and the frosting ruins them. You might even like it if you LOVE BUTTERCREAM and hard wax frosting. My sister had one for her wedding cake and I thought it was the worst wedding cake I have ever had. It was hard buttercream with some poppyseed cake on the inside. This was years ago. I can confirm that they are still at it with the flavorless, hard, waxy frosting. Like for real, if you got a cake from them and removed all of the frosting and put frosting on it from the grocery store it would be an improvement. I seriously don't understand how they haven't improved their frosting after all these years and no one seems to notice or care.

If you love hard, waxy, flavorless frostings then you may like their cakes. If you don't, you should try virtually anything else and you will...

Today I went to go pick up a wedding cake and there was nowhere to park so I took several times to go around the block to find a parking space. I went to go ring the service for prepaid orders no one came out so I move my vehicle again around trying to find a parking space because it’s a wedding cake it’s heavy. I went inside to try to get assistance and two girls pretty much shunned me away and helped other people so I asked a third lady aren’t I supposed to be ringing the bell for service for prepaid orders? I’m here to pick up a wedding cake and she’s like yes what’s the name and she was giving me looks in a negative way as well. I said I’m unsure if it’s under the mom’s name or the bride’s name or the grooms name. They told me I needed to move my vehicle in the parking lot down the alleyway I said but this is a wedding cake and I believe it’s gonna be heavy and they said well you need to park down there! I went down there no parking space drove around again thank goodness found a 1 parking space as homeless people are screaming at me for parking next to their camper. I go back in there I give them three peoples names as if they already knew they were just being rude and disrespectful because of the way I was dressed. I’m not dressed yet because I’ve been decorating the wedding venue. Then they tell me to go get my vehicle and pull up closer because it’s really heavy I was like you just had me move my vehicle down the alley I already said it’s probably heavy. This was the worst customer service ever! To be treated like scum off their shoes. I still can’t believe how poorly I...

I’m sorry I’m confused is this a diabetic or sugar free bakery or something?! The whoopie pie was dry and absolutely tasteless. It felt like eating saw dust. I swear there wasn’t any sugar in it at all. I actually want the owner of this place to have one themselves and tell me if they think that is edible. I had 2 bites and had to throw the rest out. Please stop selling those to customers. Then came the carrot cake, I had high hopes for thinking maybe the whoopie pie was a bad batch or was stale. Wrong. Firstly, the bottom layer of the cake is undercooked and gummy in the center and it’s also like they forgot to put sugar in any of it. The first bite of this cake was just raw cream cheese and carrot- it was like eating a diabetic dessert. My husband and the guest I served it to both said it was terrible and literally inedible.

If this cake is some kind of sugar free dessert- it wasn’t labeled anywhere on the case or on their website.

Honestly I’m not one to want a refund, but I want my $45 back because the cake went in the garbage after we all had a bite or two each and I really hate wasting food. If you’re going to make low sugar or sugar free desserts you should advertise that so people know what they’re getting into! I’ve had a million pieces of carrot cake in my life and this was NOT...

Update 03/30/24 It has been ~7 days since my final visit to the Patisserie during my Eugene visit, but not a day goes by where it doesn't cross my mind. On my final visit, I enjoyed a delicious slice of the mango cheesecake (March's dessert of the month), a pumpkin cookie, and something filled that tasted deliciously of Maple. It was bittersweet (the experience, not the dessert-that was wonderfully sweet) as everything was lovely, but it occurred to me I didn't know when I'd be coming back again. If you're in Eugene, celebrate how lucky you are to be in close proximity to this place and go have a treat there for me. Updaye 03/18/24 It's even better now: The construction of the outdoor patio has finished and the service and food quality is as high as ever. If you're looking for dessert, look no further than here. Update 09/17/23 I have been here 3 times within nearly 24 hours. It's amazing. I cannot stress a visit here enough. I didn't eat both of these cake slices, but I quite happily would have because they were delicous! Nice little sit-in area with actual plates and silverware to eat was a huge plus!
