This is hands down one of my most favorite restaurants to go to. Yes, the food is great, the place is always clean, welcoming and inviting. But you're gonna get something here that is a rarity in our current culture, and that's 'the human experience'. Andre goes above and beyond, treating every customer like they're family. And when I say that, I mean it, like they should be the ones with the slogan 'When you're here, you're family.". I haven't felt this welcomed in a dining room since I was at my grandmas house. He chats with you, he remembers little hobbies you have, and it always feels like you're going over to a friend's house to grab lunch. There are people out there like him, putting their heart and soul in their work to connect with their customers, not for the profits, but because it leaves everyone with a positive experience. All too often, I've gone into restaurants, and you get the happy and cheerful welcome, the cheerful goodbye, but overall the experience is always... lonely. People are paid to be cheerful, but they aren't allowed to be human. If they're too human, if they act in a way that the corporate industry doesn't approve of, then they could lose their job. It's the reason why Disney World feels like such a magical place to go to. You are catered to on every whim, your experience is unique, you are treated as a special guest. People smile at you, greet you, chat with you, and Disney can capitalize on that. But instead of setting aside several paychecks and vacation time, you can go visit Andre at Bamboo House and enjoy a little afternoon with affordable food, great atmosphere, and an amazing person who isn't afraid to show his humanity. Thank you for...
Read moreBoyfriend and I couldn’t make up our minds on where to eat, but we knew we wanted something Asian. Decided on this place since it was nearby and had good reviews.
Andre was so welcoming, friendly, and such a jokester. Anytime he came up to our table he’d always leave us laughing.
We got the Takoyaki, Chicken Teriyaki Dinner, Sukiyaki Ramen, and Matcha Boba Tea.
Takoyaki- crispy outside, creamy inside, super tasty! Chicken Teriyaki- came with Miso soup and salad with ginger dressing both great. I could drink that dressing lol. Got a heaping portion of chicken on a bed of veggies and a bowl of rice. Chicken was juicy and tender. It tasted like it was fresh off the grill. Very good. The sauce wasn’t thick, but I very much enjoy that. I don’t like when teriyaki is too thick like a syrup. Sukiyaki Ramen- the beef was sooooo yummy, broth was delicious and I added the in house made chili oil for some spice, great portion of noodles (I hate other places where I run out of noodles before I finish my soup, but here I had plenty) and it also had corn and a poached egg with the yolk being perfectly creamy Matcha Boba- I got this as my dessert and it was the only thing I didn’t love. It was a bit too sugary for my liking, but others may enjoy that! Some of the tapioca pearls were soft and mushy and some were soft on the outside and then firm and chewy on the inside. They just need to keep consistency so that they are all bouncy and chewy.
Over all I very much enjoyed coming here. The food tasted soooo fresh and I didn’t feel gross and weighed down by it like other heavy greasy restaurants make me feel. I can’t wait to come back to try so many other things on the...
Read moreI CANNOT PRAISE THIS PLACE ENOUGH!
First off, I'm a vegetarian, so sushi restaurants are always a hit or miss. When I arrived for the first time and ordered their Veggie Roll, I was asked if I were a vegetarian. When I said yes, he said he was too, and they take special care to ensure their vegetarian options are meatless.
Their rolls are huge considering their cost, and though I'm used to ordering two or three, one could easily fill my appetite.
The second time I went inside to place my order, I had my newborn with me. The manager (I think he might be the owner as well) told me to call next time, and they would bring my order out to my car! They have absolutely excellent customer service. All the staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. They treat their repeat customers as if they're old friends.
I live out of state, but my family lives in the D/FW area, and I try to visit multiple times a year. I plan to make this a regular haunt each time I'm in town, and I recommend you...
