Pei Wei Asian Kitchen — Restaurant in Euless

After a long time, I decided to visit Pei Wei and opted for vegetable fried rice with extra veggies. The person who took my order was friendly and served it quickly. Since I missed the dinner rush, there were only a few people dining in and some tables were dirty. However, the to-go orders seemed steady. I was impressed with one thing, the same guy who took my order was multitasking - cleaning the tables and handling to-go orders with a pleasant attitude. He even stopped by my table to check if everything was fine. If he's not the manager, he should be, as he took complete ownership of his work. The food arrived quickly, was hot and fresh, but I found it just okay. Perhaps it's a matter of personal preference, so it's worth giving them a try and deciding for yourself. I plan to return to Pei Wei but will try a different dish next time.

As I was writing this, the same guy came by again and asked if he could take my dish as I was clearly finished. He was really proactive! I asked him his name and it turns out that Kevin is indeed a shift leader. Honestly, I can easily see him as a General Manager of his own store! I have went here twice recently. Both times I had to go back and get a refund and leave to dine somewhere else because my food never came out. The dining room is nearly empty, if not empty, even at what should be peak times. I can see their focus is on carry out. They do not give any attention to their dine in guest. Yesterday, after waiting and waiting, and waiting, and could see that the cook was preparing nothing, I inquired, and was told by the cook that it was "Covid," related. Sure. There is one cook who is talking to me who was not and is not cooking and I am sitting there right in front of them with a number they gave me on my table, and I have no food. My guess is that my order went in someones bag as a carryout. Terrible thing, is that this happened just a week or so ago when I was in. TERRIBLE! Oh, and when I contacted the company on their website the first time I had this kind of experience, I didn't even receive a response. So, it says to me this is their method of operation from the top!

I enjoy eating at Pei Wei and have been a long time customer. This location is very lackluster compared to other locations from the food to the cleanliness. The Pei Wei App also does not work at this location, and rewards points will NOT be added to your account. My most recent visit was on 6/5/2019 and the Mongolian Beef + Veggie I ordered was very disappointing. The beef was mushy in texture and had a gamey taste, while the veggies were severely undercooked with many pieces served raw. I went for a late lunch and my table was also very sticky/grimy. While the staff was nice, I saw them only wiping down tables halfway and halfheartedly. It was very offsetting. I most likely won't be coming back. Also understand that the majority of the other positive reviews were based on the Grand Opening event several weeks ago that this location hosted, where they gave away freebies and had many corporate employees in attendance for auditing and quality control purposes.
