Where to begin! I have been here a few times now, with different groups of awesome people, and they all loved it! (As well as myself) Our wait staff every time has been phenomenal, and the food has never let us down! I enjoy that their menu pays attention to detail. It is a consistent menu, with a few daily specials! The food always looks just like the pictures, and tastes even better. The drinks are always to die for and made very well. It is a fun and clean establishment. My experience here has been consistently excellent. I love that they have vegan/vegetarian options as well and can seem to accomodate us whenever we would like to switch things up a bit! I love the Lavender Lemon Drop and their house made Garlic knotts always hit the spot.

I had a great experience!! I am staying in this special hotel the bar/restaurant is located in. The receptionist told me I might be able to bring my dog. Ben, who served me, treated my dog like a special guest! She got towels to lie on! (She loved it) and water. I got a custom made warm cocktail with brandy and the athnosphere, music, other guest, .. everything was just most lovely and cozy and warm hearted. As to the food, I enjoyed it! I had Hawaiian burgers with chicken and Parmesan and a tomato soup, and was very happy with me protein oriented healthy - good idea dish. I warmly recommend coming here!!! Don’t miss out! It’s a very special place. I will come back any time. 🙏

Stopped here for a cocktail! We are staying in the area for a few days and read that this is a place to go, so we made a point to stop. Inside, it's beautiful and I love the décor! It is inside a hotel or Inn, but the décor is throughout, even in the lobby. The drinks were 100% on par and delicious! Because we already had dinner plans, we skipped food, but the menu was to die for! I hope while we are in town I will get to go back to try food items. Saw plates being delivered to other tables, and honestly I can't wait to try a few items. If you're in the area, stop. You won't be disappointed!

I’ve been dining out in Humboldt County for over 50 years and had always considered this restaurant to be one of the better places. However, my recent experience left me humiliated and deeply disappointed. While the drinks were as excellent as always, the food and service were unacceptable.

The young lady in our group, who was celebrating her birthday, ordered the oysters. All 12 of them were riddled with shell residue, making them nearly inedible, and the cucumbers served on the side were clearly spoiled—either frozen or rotten. Later, I ordered a dish that turned out to be far too hot and spicy, something the staff completely failed to warn me about when I asked for recommendations. I have digestive issues and couldn’t eat more than a bite or two.

The young lady, seeing my discomfort, politely brought the issue to the bartender’s attention. The bartender, who was very kind, decided on her own to remove the dish from the bill. I never requested that—it was entirely her decision. However, when she discussed this with the male waiter—possibly a manager—he mocked us in the corner with her, laughing as if we were the problem.

Later, I noticed they had forgotten to apply the $5 happy hour discount to the oysters, so I politely asked if they could correct the mistake. Instead of simply fixing it, the male waiter became vindictive and disrespectful. While they eventually removed the $5, he then added back half the cost of my dish, which the bartender had already removed. His justification? “Because you ate it.” This was insulting and absurd. I barely touched the dish, and the young lady only ate a small portion because it was already on the table.

The male waiter’s behavior was the worst part of this experience. He was rude, unprofessional, and took our simple request for a correction personally. He seemed intent on punishing us for asking about the happy hour discount, and his mocking, vindictive attitude completely ruined what was supposed to be a celebratory evening for the young lady. Despite her attempts to de-escalate the situation, I left feeling humiliated and unwelcome.

While the bartender showed kindness and the drinks were wonderful, the poor food quality and the male waiter’s rude, vindictive behavior overshadowed everything else. After 40 years of dining out in Humboldt County, this was one of the most humiliating experiences I’ve ever had. I cannot recommend this restaurant and would advise others to...

Giving this a 2 star review only because I love the atmosphere & have been here before with relatively good service, however this particular night, the service was horrible. Myself and a few other friends arrived one night and asked about some cocktails and food. We did not realize reservations were required, as it was not listed anywhere on their website. We were told we could be accommodated but it would be "like 15 to 20 minutes" before we could be served. We agreed that would be absolutely fine. It took the server an HOUR to get us our drinks, and we had to ask for water at the same time. The woman who was our server was also the hostess and I don't think she was a legitimate server at all, she took everyone's order without writing anything down (which is actually impressive) but then I saw her go up to another employee and ask for help. If you're not comfortable doing something, you need to let your clients know that you'll go get someone more suitable to help them. Don't leave us in the dust. About another hour later, they came around and asked us for our food order. The food and drinks were excellent, but the service was incredibly awful. We were there a total of THREE HOURS and had to ask the "waitress" multiple times for our check, and it still took her about 45 minutes to get us all charged out. They were not busy, in fact they were clearing off tables and getting ready to close down, and I saw some of the staff enjoying shots behind the bar. I'm all for having fun while working, but it's important to be able to do your job at the same time. If they had said that we would be there for 3 hours with the most mediocre service ever, we would have gone someplace else. Don't waste your time coming here unless you are prepared to get awful service. Very big...

Visiting from out of town, went into the bar at 8:15 and there was a handful of people. Waited at the bar for about 10 minutes until we decided to sit down as no one had acknowledged me and my daughter. We sat at a table for another 10 minutes until my daughter, who has served at many restaurants and usually has a lot of patience for service workers, got fed up and stood at the bar to get some acknowledgment. The blonde woman at the bar finally looked at her and said ‘We’ll be right with you’. She sat back down and we waited for yet another 10 minutes while the blonde woman and the other man working continued to talk and serve other patrons who already had a drink in front of them. Finally we got so fed up and left after wasting 30 minutes inside the establishment, being rudely ignored. My daughter told me it was service 101 to at least acknowledge new patrons that enter the building, and even she was upset at the terrible service. If it was busy I would’ve have some compassion, but with the minimal amount of people and the obvious lack of interest in our patronage we couldn’t help but feel slighted and upset at the poor service. I hope anyone else visiting town doesn’t waste their time at this bar and goes to any of the other local bars in town that will be welcoming and interested in your business. This is the first bad review I’ve ever given any business, but I believe the bartenders on this night deserved it. I plea with the owners to speak to your staff and ask them to acknowledge people who enter the bar if you want to stay in...
