I’ve given this location so many chances but today I’m done. I usually order the steak and egg sandwich, I would like to add avocado to it but they charge a dollar for 1 small piece laid on your sandwich so I don’t do that anymore, but today I saw the egg white and avocado sandwich which in the picture shows like 3 slices of avocado on it so I changed the egg to over easy and added steak. When they called me up the sandwich had NO avocado on it, when I brought it to their attention they gave me one slice, when I questioned her she told me that’s what they put on it and walked away. Once I got to my table I realized the egg was not over easy but that most of the yoke had bled out during cooking and it was dry. I asked for my money back and drank what should have been hazelnut coffee but tasted like regular coffee, at least it didn’t taste burnt today so it was better than some other days. If this had been the only time I had an issue it would be petty but it’s far from it. I go there most mornings for the healthy offerings but am disappointed more often than not for the lack of consistency and customer service. I’ve had pickled onion in my oatmeal more than once, missing whipped cream and chocolate sauce on a latte, ham and cheese instead of spinach artichoke soufflé, the list really could go on and on. I went through the drive-thru Sunday morning on my way to work for an oatmeal, they had me pull forward. No one was behind me, no one even came through the drive-thru line while I was sitting there waiting, it was just better for them. Meanwhile I had to wait longer for someone to walk it out to me and ran later than I should have. I gave two stars because they do have good pastries and the woman at the register with the British accent is very helpful and kind. In my opinion the management should be looked at closely at...
Read moreMaybe the only problem I had here was the parking. They have enough, there was plenty, but I came in from the side road and it looked like I had to go through the dice through or the wrong way up the lane between the building they're in and the adjacent building. Turns out there's parking right up front if you get there, but my first time here and in the rain it wasn't clear. So I wound up walking around the building in the rain.
Once inside everything was great. Well, mostly.
I prefer to order from a human rather than a kiosk, and there were no humans in view for several minutes when I came in, so I used the kiosk. I found everything except how to tell them I wanted my bagel toasted twice to get brown, so I walked to the kitchen window and finally found a human who cheerfully agreed to get my bagel right, which she did. (Run on sentence much? )
In some of my recent visits to other Panera's the everything bagels have been lackluster, sp I've been going less. Today's was flavorful and what I expect from a bagel. And I got hot tea today for the first time at a Panera. I love hot teas, I've just never had one at a Panera. I tried the British Breakfast with a Ginger Peach. The British Breakfast overpowered the Founder Peach to where I wondered if it was even in there. I'll have to try the ginger peach alone next time to see if there's actually any peach to it. It any ginger for that matter.
I got here at 8:15a and been here about an hour and it's been very quiet the whole time. Maybe that explains the lack of humans at the counter. If passing through the area again I wouldn't hesitate to come in with a laptop and work for a while. The restroom was clean as is the whole place. Of course with the 16 people I've seen in the past hour keeping it clean should be easy. Is it not just me that found the...
Read moreI had a most frustrating experience at the Panera Bread Mount Dora location this afternoon. My friend and I enjoyed our lunch and left the restaurant. When I arrived at home, I realized I had left my purse at Panera so I hurried back to retrieve my purse. When I arrived I searched for it at the table where we sat, but did not find it. The young woman at the register said she hadn't seen or heard anything about a purse being found. When I looked into that room again, a woman told me she found my purse hanging on a chair at the next table and turned it in at the desk upfront. I passed along that information to an employee who said she'd tell her manager. After several minutes a man came out and said he was sorry but there was no purse in the safe or in the manager's office. He also basically said, "I'm sorry, but we can't help you." That was not acceptable to me so the woman came up to the front counter with me to tell him who she gave the purse to and that he must have been an employee because he was behind the counter. I couldn't believe that the manager tried to explain to me how their procedure works for items that are turned in and must be kept safe. I finally asked if there was perhaps another procedure, and he said, "well we have a lost & found." He then bent down and looked under the counter and asked me to describe my purse which I did. He then pulled it out from the lost & found receptacle and I said that's my purse, thank you. I was aghast at the lack of sincere interest or seriousness with which my lost purse concern was being treated. Such an unprofessional and dismissive attitude from each employee with whom I had a chance to interact. Panera has lost my trust...
