Saw online they had muffins you can pre order. I called in to try and order lemon poppy and chocolate, they don't have chocolate I was told. Ok well I'll just take the lemon poppy, things happen between shipments or busy days I get it. I get there the next day to get my muffins. Now to note I am from out of town and we don't have a GF bakery so I was very excited. Looked around, place looks good. They had chocolate cupcakes, but no chocolate muffins. Thought about getting a cupcake but it had cream cheese frosting which I hate, but it also couldn't sit in the warm car. So I just got my muffins. The lady behind the counter was very nice. The bad part....the muffins were DISGUSTING!!!!! Barely any lemon flavor honestly basically just a flour flavor, extremely dense and I understand that can happen with GF products but this was crazy bad. I tried one more bite and I just couldn't do it and threw it away. I had left 2 for my mom in the hospital and told her just to throw them out. So in total I spent $10 on muffins and took 2 bites out of the 6 just to then get thrown. I guess I was just hoping for something half decent, I completely understand GF can be hard, but this was...
Read moreI just moved here from Washington state and was nervous about not finding a Gluten Free restaurant. While a lot of restaurants are getting better about what they offer, there is something about being able to go to a restaurant and order anything off the menu that makes you feel not so left out and rather excited. I went to Mehl's from some online research and I am glad I did. Not only was the food good, but it was reasonably priced as well. Gets tiring when you go places and they upcharge quite a bit for supply and demand and the extra work of the staff.
I was pleasantly surprised by the options, so much so, I ended up leaving with 4 bags of food to eat right away and food that included breakfast sandwiches, angel food cake, caramel rolls, cupcakes, spinach tortilla wraps, cookies and blueberry muffins, and it didn't break the bank either! And I must say, the cupcakes are the best I have had that are gf, and I have tried many places. I have tried almost everything thus far that I purchased and I am happy with all of it. Definatly will be back at least once a month. Thank you Mehl's for your...
Read moreWow. Being able to walk into a bakery and not having to think about what options I have that are 100% gluten free (due to Celiac's and other intolerances in myself and my family), was amazing. They had a lot more options than I've ever had the opportunity to experience. The owners and operators of this establishment all suffer from gluten allergies too, so they GET it. Everything is guaranteed to be gluten free, and they have a decent number of no-dairy, no-nut, and I noticed some no-say options as well! I ate lunch there with a friend who remarked that if she hadn't known her chicken dumpling soup and cookie were gluten-free, she wouldn't have been able to tell! I had a chicken strip baskets for the first time in ages, and they were nice and crispy! There were several options of dipping sauce (gluten free as well, of course), and I highly recommend the sweet and sour one! After eating, I bought a few items to take home with me and make meals at home! I intend to stop by here anytime that I find...
