We stayed here one night for the Hozier concert, and I consider myself easy going when it comes to a hotel room so I tend to take any reviews with a grain of salt. Often people are just difficult to please. I don't need it to be fancy, but I do expect clean and taken care of. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything to like about this place. We left as quickly as we could in the morning because we all felt like we needed to bathe in sanitzer.
The hotel lobby was ok. They seemed a little overwhelmed by the number of people checking in and the wait to check in was long but I think someone was new. The staff who checked us in were neither friendly or unfriendly. Just meh. When we got to our room, we were pretty shocked. The room smelling disgusting, it was musty and had a smell of towels that sat in the washer too long and are starting to mold. The carpet was wet under our feet, and left residue on our feet when walking on it, and it smelled awful. As if the was a flood in the room and they decided to go with it anyway. One of the walls has a pocket of moisture where the paint has bubbled out. It felt like the air was holding moisture, and when we left I realized the book i brought with me had damp pages that were starting to show moisture damage- THAT'S HOW DAMP THE AIR WAS!! The air conditioner was not working well. We turned it way down to 65 just to be comfortable. While getting ready, my daughter spilled some water on the bathroom floor and when she wiped it up the white towel she used had black dirt all over it. The bathroom floor has obviously NOT been cleaned in some time. We looked at our feet and they were black despite a shower that morning. The tub looked disgusting, it also had not been cleaned and there was mold in the corners of the tub/wall areas. The curtains were broken and hanging off the window partway, the side door that is supposed to be keyed entry was broken and wouldn't shut so NOT SAFE at all, and there were items housekeeping forgot to put in the room after "cleaning". No ice bucket, we had to ask the front desk for one and when we did so they went to the cleaning lady in the hallway. As I watched, she sprayed the inside of the bucket and then proceeded to grab a towel from the DIRTY LAUNDRY bag and wipe the inside of the bucket. When they brought me the bucket, the bucket had particles of dirt inside and was absolutely not clean. I wish I had been in the mood for a confrontation, because I really should have asked for my money back and left.
This place is absolutely disgusting. I was so appalled. On top of it they charged me a $50 fee at check-in for incidentals. Incidentals for WHAT!? I might leave it cleaner than you guys did!!
Breakfast was not any better. Nothing was good. Seriously, avoid this place. Like I said, we left feeling like we needed to bathe in sanitizer. There has to be somewhere...
Read moreSpent the Canadian May long weekend at the Days Inn with friends. Arrived late due to some crazy rainy weather and they had everything ready for us. Ended up with the accessible room which was a bit of a surprise but was glad to have a room. We were looking for a pet-friendly room and one was provided at Days Inn.||Since this was an accessible room found the bed a bit narrow but was comfortable. Everything was set up to be accessible including a TV that spoke each command you did through the remote which wasn't needed. didn't really check out how I could turn that off and on.||The shower was set up for wheelchair use. However, the wand holder was broken and replaced with a zip tie So had to hold it to shower. Found as well that the door did not latch shut without giving it a good strong push. Didn't find that very secure for someone in a wheelchair or accessibility issues. ||One of the big things for me with a plug-in Hybrid is to have a plug-in. In talking to the front clerk they didn't think they had any plugins outside. but on the east side, they had a few plug-ins that allowed me to recharge my PHEV overnight at level 1. Other Level 2 chargers are at West Acre Mall which is only a few minutes away||The pool area is okay, Hot tub has been shut down which is disappointing. The bottom of the pool has been repaired but not repainted which is a cosmetic thing. The pool water was fairly warm and the pool was clean. The pool towels were really small.||Breakfast was okay. No waffles and basic options for cereals. The bread was all saran-wrapped which was kind of a pain to open but the bread was always fresh. Jam selection was limited most mornings but the breakfast area was clean and there was always someone reloading supplies. The breakfast area was quiet and good eating experience. In the evening I used the BBQ which was located behind the pool to cook some food, and was able to borrow some utensils, a nice break from eating out each meal.||They had some open space for relaxing between the breakfast area and the pool. Was a relaxing area but lacked seating. Had some bathrooms there as well, I found the men's bathroom handle stuck leaving the bathroom unlocked if unchecked. The drink machines were inoperable.||Overall, the area was nice, walking distance to the mall and a good variety of dining options. Overall, friendly and helpful staff and a good hotel, very accomodating for our two dogs. Was a nice time away and a...
Read moreI just left this morning after staying the night. I'll start with my check in, I reserved my room through expedia, so I gave the nice girl my id and credit card, as per usual, she greeted me with a smile, was very helpful, informed me that they just drained the hot tub that morning, cleaned it, and refilled it, so they apologized that it may not yet be up to temperature yet. She informed me that my room was in the very center, so I could easily use either entrance to get to my room. I found my room easily, I did a thorough look through of absolutely every surface in the room looking for anything unclean, I couldn't find a single thing! Even the exhaust fan vents in the bathroom, which is an often missed item in cleaning. I'm seriously impressed by the cleanliness of the whole hotel. The rooms were incredibly quiet, didn't feel like paper thin walls. The one downside was I was on the first floor, so I could occasionally hear people upstairs walking, but not super loud. I changed after a quick nap, walked down to the pool. Pool area was quite clean, a family there had all but depleted the towels on the rack, and right when I was going to inform the desk that they needed more towels, in walks an employee with stacks of towels. I relaxed in the hot tub for quite a while, it was definitely up to temp. Pool was very clean, the pool maximum depth is 4' I believe? Returned to my room, ordered my usual wake-up call for the next morning. Woke up to my wake-up call, super comfortable bed, went down for the continental breakfast, normal continental breakfast, omelets, hard boiled eggs, breads, waffle maker machine, oatmeal, cereals, coffee, tea, juices, fresh fruit, etc. Everything was warm, my only note for the continental breakfast is I like to see muffins offered as well, just my preference. I checked out, very pleased with the service and staff throughout my stay. I will gladly...
