Every year we stay at this hotel for state darts. This year we decided to bring our child with so he could go swimming since they put in two water slides. The slides were great but the whole pool area needs new floor, since the tile they have in there are very slippery. My son fell multiple time. Also, my son and his friends said they hated the green slide because it hurt them when they slid now. We rented a suite. After checking in and getting my key cards, I got to the room to find out that my key cards were not actually activated. State darts is a two day event and since we were there for two days I decided I was going to put our cloth in the dresser drawer to make sorting through them more convenient. I opened the top draw in the bedroom and found men's underwear that were damp!! GROSS!! So I called the front desk and they sent the house keeping lady up to takes care of the undies and sanitizes the drawer. That night I pulled out the couch for our son to sleep on and it didn't have any sheets and there were no sheet to be found in the room. So I called down to the front desk again to have sheets delivered. At this point I feel like a nuisance because I keep calling. They brought me a queen size sheet not once but twice!!!! By the second time I was so over it I decided I would just make it work. Before bed I needed to plug in my phone, so I looked behind the night stand for a plug in and found a landfill behind it; empty chip bags, heart shaped chocolates from valentines day, plastic pop holder, a plastic hanger from the store, and all sorts of other garbage. At this point I am curious and grossed out because obviously whoever cleaned our room failed miserably! So I started looking around the room and found women's underwear and white thing (I am assuming was the protection they used) that must have been flung and landed behind our tv stand!! 🤢🤮 This time I personally go down to the front desk to explain this to the attendant face to face. The housekeeping came in removed everything, while not wearing gloves! As she was in our room picking up these thing, she tells me she is pretty sure that our room had never been cleaned from the night before. So I ask for all new sheet that I ended up putting in the bed MYSELF. They never came in to clean our room just picked up the garbage from the previous people. They did not move us to a different room either. We did not use the jacuzzi tub in our room because we were quite certain that it had not been cleaned either. We also had to have our keys rescanned 5 time during our stay because they would deactivate. (we kept them away from our cell phones and any magnets) The only thing that was comped to us was 50% off only ONE of our night which was like $60.Needless to say my family will not be staying at this hotel next year for state darts. Along with a lot of our friends, as they were completely disgusted with our room situation. It was basically the talk of the whole dart tournament. There is also a lot of talk in the dart community about asking it to be changed to a different hotel all together. Also, Saturday morning when we went down for breakfast the ceiling in the lobby was leaking and there were buckets and water all over the floor. It was a disaster. The $60 does not compensate for all the time I had to waste calling down to the front desk or going down there personally to have them fix things that should have already been done. It also doesn't give my back the time I waited for the housekeeper to come take care of the issues in our room, time I could have spent with my son down...
Read moreHonestly one star is being generous but there isn’t the option to leave less. This was probably one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Like so bad it was almost comical. I’ll start with check in. 3 people were standing behind the desk, with a line of people and only one person was checking people in. Ok sure. We wait, check in, get our keys, head up to the room. Keys don’t won’t. Head back down. The lady behind the front desk says “Well did you hold them too close to your phone? That disables them.” Told her that no, my son had actually carried them up. Finally get working keys, the rooms are tiny. I mean like super budget motel tiny. The usb/outlet port between the beds didn’t work so there was literally one open outlet in the whole room. The walls are so thin we could literally hear every word of both rooms on either side of us and I honestly don’t even think they were being loud. We went down to the restaurant that is attached and quickly realized it was not a kid friendly place despite being advertised as so “until 9pm” (this was about 5:30). Went out to eat and came back to room cards not working a second time. New room cards again and we ventured to the pool. I’m not sure what the pool capacity is (it’s TINY) but I guarantee there were at least 4 times that number of people in there. Like so many kids you couldn’t really actually even move in the pool if you were somehow able to get in. There were zero pool towels. The hot tub was overfilled with little kids literally jumping into it and playing chicken with each other. The “No Glass in the Pool Area” sign was laughable as there were beer bottles everywhere. Went back upstairs to the room around 8pm and that’s when the super loud, fighting, swearing, arguing, partying really started. I tried to go down to the “restaurant” to get a glass of wine to bring up to the room. Stood there for 15mins never being acknowledged and google told me there was a liquor store across the street. Went there and bought a bottle of wine. Called down to the front desk to use a corkscrew: “There’s has been broken for a few weeks.” But this is an “event center”? I guess lol! Gave up with the whole thing and tried to go to sleep. At midnight me and my 3 kids were woken up to screaming between maybe the front desk person (?) and a group of people partying in possibly the hallway. This lasted around 20mins. I really had minimal hope at this point breakfast was going to save this stay but I remained somewhat optimistic. My mistake. Breakfast the next morning was 2 kinds of cereal, some bagels, a broken juice machine, prison eggs (no cheese, no toppings, not even scrambled) and sausage links. That was it. At this point we just gave up and decided a gas station breakfast driving away from this place would be better. So I go to check out and I’m standing at the front desk for easily 10mins. No one. At one point, a different employee comes over and wonders out loud why “they still aren’t at the desk?” A few minutes later, new employees, walk in the front door to start their shift and one of them ends up helping me. Hands down, this was easily one of the worst places I’ve stayed and recommend you stay pretty much...
Read moreWe had a scheduled birthday party that we paid almost $400 for (the party room was $300, when they called to get the payment they then told us there was a gratuity fee even though they weren't serving us food, and they never told us about that when we originally booked the room. I was a bit shocked by that, however, Danielle, the Sales Manager, gave us a couple of extra hours for the party since we weren't aware of that, so that made it a little better.) We arrived for the party and the lady working at the front desk was incredibly rude. She told us that it would be easier to park at the side door to get to the area we were at but then she would have to make us a room key, which seemed like an inconvenience to her, even though we needed a key to get into the pool anyway. Turns out the lady working at the front desk was the General Manager. Every encounter we had with her after that was awful. When we checked in, we had to wait at least another 10-15 minutes for someone to come open the party room for us. Also, upon entering she said that we could not have any food with us, but Danielle, the Sales Manager, had said it was ok. We did get to bring our food in and we were told no food in the pool area, which was not a problem. One guest (a grown adult) misunderstood and didn't hear that we couldn't have food in the pool area and took a slice of cake to a table that was about 20 feet away from the pool. As he was finishing his cake, the General Manager came into the pool area and started yelling at him and telling him she was going to have to shut the pool down and that we couldn't be eating in the pool area. I completely understand rules, and apologize for the misunderstanding and that someone brought a piece of cake out of the eating area. Nothin was spilled, and I had in fact cleaned up food that I found on the floor from someone that had spilled before we arrived because I didn't want to get blamed for it. But, rather than yelling at him, she could have come to find me and asked me to talk to him, or she could have spoken to him in a normal tone of voice and not yelled at him as he had no problem going back to the room we were allowed to eat in. I was horrified that a guest at our party was being yelled at in front of the entire party by the hotel staff. It was so embarrassing. I would literally suggest any other place in town for a birthday party simply for how we were treated. Danielle was great. The General Manager was terrible. We did have the pool to ourselves which was great and the slides were fun. The floor around the pool was very dangerous. Puddles of water would gather in many places and even the adults were having a hard time walking near the pool. We literally laid towels down around the entire edge of the pool to help prevent the kids from slipping and falling after the first person fell getting out of the pool. Overall, the only reason I even gave 2 stars is because the pool (minus the floor) was fun, the slides were fun, Danielle was nice and it was nice to have the party room connected to the pool. Other than that, I would not have given any stars because of how we were treated by the...
