I usually really like this place, the people who work are super sweet to the kids and the food is okay and won’t break the bank too much. I’ve had my daughters birthday here and all the kids had a bunch of fun! The games were something my daughter and I really enjoyed playing in between skating. However this time the games took $3.50 in total from my daughter and I and as we kept losing money we went to speak to the lady who says she’s the manager named Thea (she said over the phone but she has long dark hair in case she gave wrong name). She said she was too busy helping customers pay to get in (but there was a teenage boy taking money and doing giving tickets) she said she’d talk to me when she “had time” and she said it in a rude tone, definitely not like she wanted to be helpful.. She then was talking and chilling with one of the kids that work there while there were no customers and laughing and completely ignored me. My daughter was even like “that lady is really rude” and she never notices stuff like that but this lady really was very blatantly rude. We left and the lady Thea never said anything and it was just an icky experience after spending about 50-60dollars between skating/food/games. I hate paying money to places that treat you like you don’t matter and like you’re an annoyance. The whole place isn’t bad, really and truly I’ve never had an issue before today. They really could use a new manager that won’t scare off their frequent customers, but if that was fixed it’d be an...
Read moreMy girls have fun every time we go and the prices are fair for admission, skate rentals, and food items, however, there are a few things that could be improved. The games that you pay to play seem to be mostly broken every time we are there and we lose money by either the game eating the coins or the tickets being empty. It's a pain to try to track someone down to help so we end up out some money each time. The ticket counter helpers tend to be quite impatient with little kids (which I can understand after a long day of indecisive and hyper kids), but they also try to help too many at one time which leads to issues. They end up forgetting their counts so we wind up with disappointed kids who didn't get to spend all of their tickets because they were told they spent more than they did (even when I am there keeping track and try to politely correct the employee). It becomes very frustrating to even do any of the games and I regret it every time because of these issues. Overall, the skating part is super fun and the snack bar is very affordable, so we keep going back for that! Just try to steer your kids away from...
Read moreRecently went to skate city with a few friends and I had a lot of fun. To get in, it costs $5 and then another $3 to rent skates if you don't own any, which I did not. You have the option of both rollerblades, or roller skates. I found the roller blades to be rather uncomfortable as they were cutting into my feet, so I switched over to roller skates. Sizes for both come in whole numbers aka 1, 2, 3, etc.
The general skating was pretty fun. While you could naturally just skate around in a circle, there were also intermittent games/activities that you can participate in. Examples of this were doing the hokey pokey, or playing this game of chance where a die was rolled. In the dice game, the music would occasionally stop, and you would have to stop where you were at, and there are signs with the numbers 1-6 scattered throughout the room. The die would be rolled, and you would either be eliminated, or spared depending on the number given.
Altogether a fun atmosphere. Perfect place for birthday parties, dates, or just hanging out...
