2021 12-14 (*) Room temperature food, manager tried to blame Covid, staffing, everyone is struggling, etc. but none of that has to with undercooked tots and unmelted cheese on a burger that was cooked long before I ordered it and jerky dry, brittle bacon. That was your last chance, Sickies and you failed spectacularly.
2020 09-21 (*) Sickies used to be my favorite place in town for a great burger but the last few visits (even pre-COVID) the burger patty was grossly underseasoned. Regardless of the 50 kinds of variety of toppings, if the patty isn't good by itself then the rest is just window dressing.
The burgers we ordered came out quickly (less than 10 min) but were dry (and underseasoned) and my friend and I both agreed the patties were pre-cooked and had sat in a warmer as no patty that big could have been freshly cooked in so little time.
The service has not been up to par as it was over the past decade either. After receiving our food on the last visit and ordering another beer, it was 15 minutes before we saw our server again with zero apologies about the wait nor did she ask how the food was (which was mostly gone at this point so what could it matter if we were dissatisfied or if something was incorrect).
Given their many expansions over the years I'm disappointed with how this original location has dropped in quality. I've recommended their Sioux Falls location to several friends and family there so I'm curious to compare quality. I was so happy to stumble across this place back then. I came believe I forgot. Kat gives great customer service! She gave me excellent service even though i warned her I was broke and couldn't tip her great. My FREE burger was delicious. Wow I am so glad I stopped here. Wasn’t too hungry but I needed to pull over to take a call. My server Emily was awesome. I took a long time to peruse the menu. So many options. So little time ( and stomach space). Settled on the Hot Momma burger, fries with ranch salt seasoning and the Peanut Butter cup old fashioned. We were 17 families in town for a hockey tournament looking for a fun place for our large group to have a team dinner. I called and asked if they could accommodate large groups and they said yes, they could take our reservation for our group at 7:00pm. Proceeded to place reservation... then called AGAIN the next day TO CONFIRM the reservation. All was good.... "no problem - see you then!" We get there at reserved time and they "LOST" our reservation and then found it but said that they could not seat us for 45 minutes to an hour.... 17 out of town families just driving around because they KICKED FAMILIES OUT of the restaurant because they were 'blocking walkways' while they were waiting FOR OUR RESERVATION. In the TWO conversations I had with the staff confirming our large group reservation did ANY ONE say anything about the possibility of not being able to accommodate us! I spoke with a couple people there several times... (not sure if manager or not) but they basically said if people want to eat somewhere else they should. Hhmmph - looks like you guys lost out on a lot of $$$ from 17 hockey families that like to eat and drink!
