Denny's — Restaurant in Farmington

I'm delighted and surprised, so I had to come and leave this review. After 3 to 4 so-so or BAD experiences recently with food I ordered, then picked up or had delivered, I'm finally eating something that I can appreciate. I mean, who knew? I haven't eaten Denny's for years because I didn't have good memories of the food from past experience. Today I looked at the menu because it was too late for some places who close early, and I thought I would just look. The food I ordered is truly wonderful, and that just has not been the case with many places here. I feel like if you pick up or have food delivered, the restaurant simply throws stuff together whether it's hot or cold, greasy and/or burned, without a care to whoever eats it. You aren't sitting inside so they just send anything they sling together. It makes me wonder because some of the places I speak of have good reputations. Last summer I even got violently ill from a takeout order locally. This food from Denny's is really good, and it appears they put some care and attention into putting it together for me. I appreciate that! It is not greasy, it is not cold, under or over- cooked, or sloppily thrown on the plate. They put plenty of toppings in containers on the side for the pancakes, and that alone was a surprise, because places are getting more expensive while giving us smaller portions these days. If I had anything to complain about, it'd be that the biscuit needed more gravy. Not enough to drop a star, though. Just a side note: I think it'd be great if restaurants stopped overdosing their cream gravy with black pepper, since it can bother people...go easy, people can always add pepper but it is hard to remove. But Denny's gets an A+ in my book!

It's been a month since my good review, and I was going to order this morning again. But there was no vanilla cream available for pancakes, apparently. What I ordered last time seemed to not exist anymore. What a disappointment! I hate cream cheese frosting on anything. The vanilla cream was different. It did not taste like it had cheese at all, so I am pretty sure they eliminated it from the menu except for inside the strawberry crepes. I didn't want crepes. Oh well....pretty typical of any place in Farmington. If I discover something I like, it is soon no longer available. I appreciate that Denneys read my review, so let me know if I am wrong and just need to call and request vanilla cream on the side. But it does seem to be not available from the menu. That...

My little family & I had lunch here on a Sunday. Which was my daughters’ request for a day out in FMT. Wait time was quite long, they only had one area of their building open, which was new to me, but worth the wait. We got seated in a booth, that was great as my little family doesn’t like hard chairs. Haha. Our waiter Leann was quick with taking our drink orders down, asked us if we wanted to order, I said yes, but my little family were like “uhh” so she jst said “okay, I’ll be right back.” Left pretty fast 🚶‍♀️💨 haha. She came back took our order like couple mins later. My daughters liked her demeanor as well as her personality. She was pretty & humorous. Joked with us. Not many waiters are like that & this is my first time doing a review on a restaurant. Usually my girlfriend & I jst rate on stars, but this time, we all agreed that I should do the review. As we finished up eating, getting ready to leave, I was going to give her tip to her in person because I don’t trust leaving it on the table, but to my oldest was like “where’s her tip, she deserves it.” I’m like ima give it to her, she’s like “No, leave it here.” Then I’m like “ yu jst want to steal it from her. LoL jk.” So hopefully, she was able to get her tip. I prefer giving to the actual waiter, but not this time. Overall, she was/is a great waiter. Keep up your attentive skills & keep making people laugh, even tho some don’t understand humor. My little family is full of humor & we love a great sense of humor & jokes. So I decided to use DoorDash for the first ti'm here and order the double cheeseburger with bacon and season fries. I will never order from DoorDash again because of the situation. The burger wasn't even cooked, right? It looked like it was cooked in water, not on the grill not on a flat iron stove. Let me tell you about the lettuce and the tomatoes that looked very old. What made this burger so bad were the soggy buns when you grab it. It just smashed in your hand like mashed potatoes. I tried to contact the store 5 times calling back-to-back to see if they would answer the phone and when I did this lady managed to answer the phone and I told her about my problem and she told me that I need to contact DoorDash but the way she told me to contact DoorDash was. Very rude. She definitely needs to work on the people skills on how she talks to customers. I come here all the time for breakfast. But this was my first time ordering a burger to go never again. To that manager lady, you definitely need to work on your people's skills on how you talk to someone on the phone. The manager definitely needs to teach the cooks how to cook or hired cooks that know what to do. This is bad for the customers and it's bad for profits. They definitely need to learn how to make a proper burger. That is so much money and revenue being lost. Because you can't make a burger properly. The simplest little thing to do.
