Before writing this negative review I read other negative ones to see if my experience was a rare one, including the attitude-filled, borderline condescending responses from the owner. The owner must care very deeply about their product, the quality, & the origins. But there is a huge disparity between what the owner is trying to offer & what the regional customer is trying to get, especially in today's economy. Maybe it's a simple matter of the people who live in the area value things differently than the owner does, & in an ideal world the owner's business would do much better somewhere else with a clientele that pushes for luxury.
Unfortunately, that wasn't what I was after. I wanted a good cup of coffee, & as an artist & culinary enthusiast I do appreciate the finesse the owner is clearly trying to put in. But unsatisfactory pricing & even more unsatisfactory customer relations can severely damage a business. It is just as important to meet your customers where they're at as it is to hold worth & respect for what you do. You are not better than them, & insulting people in your responses is a really bad look for you. If this business truly cared about how their customers are having to BUDGET for a craft coffee, you would see it in their actions; updated pricing on their menu (that 300mg coffee is now almost FOURTEEN DOLLARS, adding a single extra espresso shot is $4 EACH, & their cups almost all come in a small 12oz cup), being sympathetic if not apologetic when a customer isn't happy with the price or product (INCLUDING AFTER THEY LEFT YOUR STORE), & more transparency in what to expect versus the average coffee shop. Whether intentional or not, this coffee shop comes across as snooty, condescending, holier-than-thou, drastically overpriced, & downright rude. You are not better than your customers who disagree with your behavior just because you choose quality beans.
The iced mexican chocolate was good, not amazing, but good. The lined paper straw did affect the taste significantly, so I wish there was a different option for that. There wasn't anything 'wrong' with it, but when the drink is that small for that price, it DOES take away from the overall enjoyment of the purchase. All of these factors damaged my perception of this business enough that, even if the coffee tasted good, I physically could not drink it. For three drinks, we paid well over $30, I wouldn't pay that much for any drinks that doesn't have alcohol in it. I wouldn't have come back for the pricing, but after seeing how the owner interacts with people & how deceptive they are with pricing (there was NO indicator you could add syrups, there was no notice that an extra shot was so expensive, & they clearly don't want you to know how much more they've hiked up the price), I would actively steer people away & send them to Vagabond down the street (which was sincerely a gem). I do not care about any defensive response the owner makes to this review & will waste this place no more of my energy or money.
Edit for Owner's Response: We LOVED you outting yourself as a narcissistic racist liar & genuinely spent several minutes laughing at how delusional, creepy, arrogant, & flat out bitchy you are. You clearly went back & identified the WRONG ORDER & instead of taking context clues like a $30+ order within the past few days that ordered an iced mexican mocca, you just went on & on insisting that I was lying. Check the literal receipt I added after your response, you delusional walnut. Telling me you wish I'd come back because you "serve espresso from where Im from" is racist because you're clearly judging someone else's ethnic skintone. Question for you, where do you think I'm from based on my WHITE skin tone, sweetheart? You have zero humility, accountability, intelligence, or redeemability as a business. & Just know, we screenshotted your response, just in case you wanna edit it to cover your butt š. But, as we said, we dont care & laughed at what we knew would be...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently got to try this amazing coffee shop and meet Annette and let me tell you this is the real deal coffee weāve been needing in Fayetteville! I got a mocha latte with oatmilk and I think she said it was her medium roast she makes for the espresso. It was delicious and perfectly smooth! Also as a coffee shop lover it was so nice to have a real mug and saucer again. Her mocha is powdered cacao beans so itās not too sweet and it pairs with the espresso perfectly. My dad also got a pour over and he absolutely loved it! So thoughtful to put it on a tray with the cup and pitcher and get to pour it yourself. Her personality and charm shows through her service and coffee and even the art she displays! So cozy and thoughtful. Not to mention this place is open much later than most craft coffee shops Iāve been too so I can finally grab a cup after work for on my way home. I love this place so much and I cannot wait to go back! A must for any...
