As a New Yorker, I get excited whenever I find Jamaican food in the South—it's rare, and I know good Jamaican cuisine. When I walked into Jamaican Vibez, I was hopeful. The woman at the front was friendly and personable, and she made me feel welcomed. She was patient with my order, especially since I was ordering for others who weren’t present.
Most of what I ordered was made to order, so I expected a bit of a wait. I let them know I’d step out and come back. But when I returned, I was told there had been a misunderstanding—they thought the chicken had already been prepped, but it hadn’t. The man that serves in the kitchen was arguing with the staff in the presence of customers about money . They did not care patrons were present. I will never encourage anyone to visit this establishment on McPherson Church road. It is not everything that says Jamaica represents Jamaica 100%, do not be fooled. You cannot place an order over the phone but yet when you place your order when you arrive they do not have what you ordered. I stood there and watched customers order at the register, pay for food and while waiting, they told them they do not have what they just ordered. They took forever to give the refund and the man from the kitchen walked out with the food in his hand that is supposed to be for another customer arguing and following the woman who was upset from their attitude out the door in the parking lot. Mother's Day y'all this man arguing with a female customer. This location need to be shut down until they learn how to deal with the public, learn and understand how a Jamaican restaurant should be operated and the hospitality that Jamaicans are famous for and accustomed to giving to people...
