Amazing BBQ Experience at Mac’s Speed Shop! I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mac’s Speed Shop, and it was nothing short of incredible! I ordered the brisket, which was absolutely amazing—so tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Every bite was perfection. For my sides, I went with their house-made mac n’ cheese and fried okra, and both were fantastic. The mac n’ cheese was creamy and comforting, while the fried okra was crispy and seasoned just right. Our waitress was kind enough to let us sample the slaw, and it was fresh and delicious—definitely worth ordering next time. The service was top-notch, and the food exceeded all my expectations. If you’re a BBQ lover, Mac’s Speed Shop is a must-visit! I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu. ***Second time coming here*** I recently dined at Mac’s Speed Shop and had a mixed but enjoyable experience. For my appetizer, I ordered the hushpuppies with honey butter, and they were absolutely delicious—perfectly crispy with the sweet and creamy butter complementing them wonderfully. For my main course, I tried the bacon jam bison burger. While the flavors were there, the bison itself was a bit too dry for my liking, even though I ordered it medium rare. Fortunately, the smoked garlic aioli added some much-needed moisture and brought the dish together. As a side, I opted for the house Caesar salad, which was a standout. The zesty dressing really elevated the fresh, crisp greens, making it a simple yet flavorful addition to my meal. Overall, Mac’s Speed Shop delivered on taste in some areas, but the dryness of the bison burger held it back slightly. Still, the hushpuppies and Caesar salad were definite highlights!

Went to Mac's on a work trip with some coworkers. It was on a Sunday when football games were in but it was OVERWHELMINGLY loud in there, like yelling across the table over the game loud. I appreciate wanting to hear the game when it is on, but this was absurd. The decor also didn't make any sense to me, this place is called a speed shop and has a spark plug on the wall outside, but I didn't see anything car related inside. I got the small bbq sampler with 4 meats and it was...not great. I travel for work and have had a lot of BBQ from a lot of places and this was lacking. The brisket was not pull-apart tender like brisket should be. The flavor was also a bit strange, like it had been cooked fully, and then rested in a smoker, it was overpowering. The ribs were medicore. I got the burnt end of the rack and had to gnaw pieces off. Flavor was decent but these were just not tender ribs. Turkey had good flavor but was a little dry. The two sausages I tried were fine, but nothing special. The mac n chesse and baked beans were great, and the pickles that came on the plate were also quite good. Bread was flavorless, but present. Service was great. Overall, I wouldn't go back here, I'd proabably tell people to avoid it.

My company did a catering order with them and it was very unorganized. One of our employees stopped by and specifically told them what we needed for our event and spoke to them in person. We stopped by again the day before pick up just to confirm everything because we had order 250 wings and wanted different sauces. Jonathan assured us he was going to take care of us. The day of pick up we came at the time we said and the host told me she didn't see a catering order in the system. After maybe 10 min of scrambling she told us that she couldn't see it because it was done through corporate.. even tho we went in person twice. Then it took them 30 min to give me my order.. Once I finally received my order I didn't realize till getting to our venue that they just gave us plain grilled wings they didn't toss them in any of the sauces we requested. Another issue with the food was the banana pudding it was just nilla cookies and the white cream. Everyone at our event said the banana pudding was missing ingredients. It was just a mess.. do yourself a favor and don't book them for catering because you will just embarrass yourself at your event.

I don’t leave reviews often but anytime I have an experience like yesterday, I feel like it needs to be shared. We chose to dine-in for dinner last night as a family of five. We sat down and waited. It was 15 minutes before our waitress ever came over to acknowledge us or get our drink order. After ordering our drinks she told us they were out of coke products. So no big deal, we all ordered water except my husband ordered a beer. We asked for kids menus but they were out of those. So she read off to us what was on the kids menu. We proceeded to order an appetizer of fried pickles and I asked to substitute the fries for mashed potatoes on the kids order, but she told me they couldn’t do that. Then we waited. It was 30 minutes before she checked on us or our table and at that time we asked where the fried pickles were and she said she’d check on them. She came back and said they were down a fryer which is why it was taking so long. Again… no big deal but it would have been nice to be told that instead of feeling like we were forgotten. Or maybe we could have ordered something else. We just weren’t given that option. So finally the pickles came out. Then we waited for our food. We waited, and waited and waited. The waitress never came to our table. Not once. To update us or tell us anything. She went to other tables and checked on them but it truly felt like she was avoiding us on purpose. We were ready to just pay for what we had and leave but then our food showed us. In our waitresses words “I’ve never seen it take so long for food to come out. I’m sorry. While you all are waiting out here, I’m standing in the kitchen thinking this is really bad.” Those were her words… but moving on. The food was okay. The wings weren’t that good. They were very pink on the inside. They weren’t sauced up like we’ve had in the past. We finished and the bill came out to be $100. Which we happily would pay that for good food and quality service but that did not happen. Even when the waitress herself knew it wasn’t right. We weren’t comped anything. There was nothing done to right the wrongs that were done. It was overall so bad that we decided to never come back to this restaurant. This is an industry where making your customers happy is essential and when you KNOW as a waiter or waitress that you haven’t provided good service, you need to try and make it right. That just never happened. Extremely disappointed in this dine in experience. We will...

not reflective of the service we received from our server today, she was really nice and attentive to everything We had made to go order a few months ago and we’re missing quite a few things so I had called and whoever I spoke to said they would put our name down and make it right the next time we came in. In that to go order we were missing fries from our entrees, the ice cream to the peach cobblers we had ordered and I had specifically asked for extra sour cream which whatever isn't the biggest deal but we had got no sour cream even though I know two of the things we ordered come with some already. (Nachos, quesadilla) When we came in today I had mentioned that our name was put down somewhere and our server she would look into it and whichever manager came over (female dark long hair ) treated me as if I had lied about making that call, which I did not and that made me feel extremely awkward. She said there was no book, and that you don’t serve ice cream with to go peach cobblers (which is fine however we were not told that when I called the order in nor when I called back to say it was missing from our order) she had said that she could give us peach cobblers today and she would tell our server but she did not do that. Our server however did put in for one free peach cobbler on an unrelated note and I had already felt so uncomfortable with the interaction with manager from before I didn’t have the heart to tell her we were supposed to get two peach cobblers. I even maybe thought that I was reading to much into how she spoke but after asking my husband if he thought I was he said no that he got the same vibe. I was not lying about making that call and even though I don’t remember who I talked to I really felt that the vibe that she gave off was really uncalled for. I completely understand that people do take advantage of things, but it was hard enough for me to even mention that I had called in before. That being said the food was great but I could have totally done without the accusatory attitude. But again to highlight again our server was really nice an attentive to our table and I appreciate that. I also want to point out I am not complaining to get something for free I am however pointing out that how the manager handled the situation made me feel extremely...

Went on a Monday night. There was a DJ when we were there, and it was fairly loud inside, but we sat outside and it was a great environment. Looks like it gets busier on weekends. We got the platter to see what they have. Their unlimited hush puppies are 1$ and you have to ask for them, I guess they had a problem with food waste. This is a new system in the past week. They kept apologizing for how long it took, but it had to have been less than 5 minutes for the pups to get to us. Girlfriend and I got a platter to see what they had to offer. Mac and cheese was great, it was on the drier end of the spectrum with some cheese that still held its shredded shape 8/10. The baked beans were fairly saucy, good flavor, nothing out of this world special 7/10. Ribs were not what we were looking for, fairly large fat cap, slippery layer of thickened sauce, and a real porky flavor 6/10. Brisket had great flavor, thick slices, good mouth texture, tender 9/10. Pulled chicken amazing flavor, great texture, just right amount of tender 9/10. Pulled pork stole the show, smokey flavor, right amount of fat, right amount of tender 10/10. We left there way too full, promising that if we go back we’ll get the puppies, mac, and a large pulled pork sandwich to share.

Toast was nothing to rave about. Pickles were on the firmer, thinner end of things - not terribly special in their own right. Hush puppies were 8/10 on their own, 9/10 with the honey butter.

3 sauces on the table: SC mustard, Carolina, and a Western NC that takes a sweeter approach. I like thicker sauces that stick on to what I’m eating, and these were a little thin for me. They had great flavor though, I just wanted more of it in each bite.

We...
