I don’t leave reviews often but anytime I have an experience like yesterday, I feel like it needs to be shared. We chose to dine-in for dinner last night as a family of five. We sat down and waited. It was 15 minutes before our waitress ever came over to acknowledge us or get our drink order. After ordering our drinks she told us they were out of coke products. So no big deal, we all ordered water except my husband ordered a beer. We asked for kids menus but they were out of those. So she read off to us what was on the kids menu. We proceeded to order an appetizer of fried pickles and I asked to substitute the fries for mashed potatoes on the kids order, but she told me they couldn’t do that. Then we waited. It was 30 minutes before she checked on us or our table and at that time we asked where the fried pickles were and she said she’d check on them. She came back and said they were down a fryer which is why it was taking so long. Again… no big deal but it would have been nice to be told that instead of feeling like we were forgotten. Or maybe we could have ordered something else. We just weren’t given that option. So finally the pickles came out. Then we waited for our food. We waited, and waited and waited. The waitress never came to our table. Not once. To update us or tell us anything. She went to other tables and checked on them but it truly felt like she was avoiding us on purpose. We were ready to just pay for what we had and leave but then our food showed us. In our waitresses words “I’ve never seen it take so long for food to come out. I’m sorry. While you all are waiting out here, I’m standing in the kitchen thinking this is really bad.” Those were her words… but moving on. The food was okay. The wings weren’t that good. They were very pink on the inside. They weren’t sauced up like we’ve had in the past. We finished and the bill came out to be $100. Which we happily would pay that for good food and quality service but that did not happen. Even when the waitress herself knew it wasn’t right. We weren’t comped anything. There was nothing done to right the wrongs that were done. It was overall so bad that we decided to never come back to this restaurant. This is an industry where making your customers happy is essential and when you KNOW as a waiter or waitress that you haven’t provided good service, you need to try and make it right. That just never happened. Extremely disappointed in this dine in experience. We will...
Read morenot reflective of the service we received from our server today, she was really nice and attentive to everything We had made to go order a few months ago and we’re missing quite a few things so I had called and whoever I spoke to said they would put our name down and make it right the next time we came in. In that to go order we were missing fries from our entrees, the ice cream to the peach cobblers we had ordered and I had specifically asked for extra sour cream which whatever isn't the biggest deal but we had got no sour cream even though I know two of the things we ordered come with some already. (Nachos, quesadilla) When we came in today I had mentioned that our name was put down somewhere and our server she would look into it and whichever manager came over (female dark long hair ) treated me as if I had lied about making that call, which I did not and that made me feel extremely awkward. She said there was no book, and that you don’t serve ice cream with to go peach cobblers (which is fine however we were not told that when I called the order in nor when I called back to say it was missing from our order) she had said that she could give us peach cobblers today and she would tell our server but she did not do that. Our server however did put in for one free peach cobbler on an unrelated note and I had already felt so uncomfortable with the interaction with manager from before I didn’t have the heart to tell her we were supposed to get two peach cobblers. I even maybe thought that I was reading to much into how she spoke but after asking my husband if he thought I was he said no that he got the same vibe. I was not lying about making that call and even though I don’t remember who I talked to I really felt that the vibe that she gave off was really uncalled for. I completely understand that people do take advantage of things, but it was hard enough for me to even mention that I had called in before. That being said the food was great but I could have totally done without the accusatory attitude. But again to highlight again our server was really nice an attentive to our table and I appreciate that. I also want to point out I am not complaining to get something for free I am however pointing out that how the manager handled the situation made me feel extremely...
Read moreWent on a Monday night. There was a DJ when we were there, and it was fairly loud inside, but we sat outside and it was a great environment. Looks like it gets busier on weekends. We got the platter to see what they have. Their unlimited hush puppies are 1$ and you have to ask for them, I guess they had a problem with food waste. This is a new system in the past week. They kept apologizing for how long it took, but it had to have been less than 5 minutes for the pups to get to us. Girlfriend and I got a platter to see what they had to offer. Mac and cheese was great, it was on the drier end of the spectrum with some cheese that still held its shredded shape 8/10. The baked beans were fairly saucy, good flavor, nothing out of this world special 7/10. Ribs were not what we were looking for, fairly large fat cap, slippery layer of thickened sauce, and a real porky flavor 6/10. Brisket had great flavor, thick slices, good mouth texture, tender 9/10. Pulled chicken amazing flavor, great texture, just right amount of tender 9/10. Pulled pork stole the show, smokey flavor, right amount of fat, right amount of tender 10/10. We left there way too full, promising that if we go back we’ll get the puppies, mac, and a large pulled pork sandwich to share.
Toast was nothing to rave about. Pickles were on the firmer, thinner end of things - not terribly special in their own right. Hush puppies were 8/10 on their own, 9/10 with the honey butter.
3 sauces on the table: SC mustard, Carolina, and a Western NC that takes a sweeter approach. I like thicker sauces that stick on to what I’m eating, and these were a little thin for me. They had great flavor though, I just wanted more of it in each bite.
