The experience was pretty bad all round. In fact, the only reason for the 2nd star is the fact that the youngest kids didnt seem to let the multiple negative events stop them from having fun. First, the front counter checkin area (also the food and prize counter) was being manned by at least 6 people, 4 of which were hiding around a corner talking and clowning around. You can pay for games by time or by play. Anything but the time based gaming would be absolutely insane because many of the machines take less than 2 seconds to play. Imagine how quickly your money would disappear. This makes the $20 per person for 90min worth of gaming easier to swallow. This is with a "deal" price based on the purchase of a $20 large pizza and 4 drinks (all you can drink), without it would have been more for the time. You get a number to place on your table and they are supposed to bring your pizza out when ready. You also get to pause your game time 1 time so that the kids can play before their meal then not waste payed time eating. We put the number on the table and went off playing the games. The first 5 machines the kids tried to play were broken and had been for long enough that the little screens you swipe your cards against (the equivalent of tokens) would tell you that the machine was broken. Once they found working ones they played for about 20min and when we checked the table the number and pizza were nowhere to be found. What happened? Did they pickup the number by mistake or did someone steal the pizza when it was brought out? Tough to say because while the adults were dealing with trying to get someone to get us our food, which took speaking to 4 different people(2 of which disappeared after saying they were checking the 3 person took 2 attempts), the kids kept playing. The kids were aged 6,7, and 10. When I came back to let the kids know what was going on, the oldest told me that 3 older boys had stolen my younger sons tickets from him. She also said that they had done the same to the 6 year old by pulling his tickets right out of the machine as they were printed. These boys, i would guess aged pre-teen to early teens were watching the younger boys intently, no doubt waiting for more tickets. I approached the boys and two of them quickly threw the other under the bus. He had already cashed the tickets in for a slip which he gave me when i didnt take his "i didnt do it" as fact. I later watched these boys follow other young children around looking for opportunities. Before sitting down to our hard earned pizza, i went to the restroom to wash my hands. There in the restroom, there was no soap in any dispenser and an employee in the stall loudly bragging about his very adult night for everyone to hear. He had a dufflebag in there and was getting changed but being this was a childrens place the talk should have been a little muted. No soap in a bathroom were kids touch multiple machines that other kids have touched then eat. What I later noticed were dispensers for hand sanitizer located around the arcade area so at least there was that. When it was time to cash in their tickets for the prizes, there were 2 full display cases showing items sitting on boxes filled with more of them. Clearly there was stock of everything shown, worthless little toys and trinkets mostly. When the kids picked the items that were clearly there, they were told that the manager with the keys was not there today and they couldnt have something unless there happened to be another box of them behind the counter. Thank god there were many of the items back there but not their first few choices. If you stole all of the items in the display cases and the cases themselves the value would probably be less than a couple hundred dollars. Our mean and 90 min of time cost about $120. I think they could afford to let someone else carry a key to the case, but apparently management didnt trust their employees and from what i saw i guess i...
Read moreI had such a great time at the Glen Burnie, Maryland Chuck E. Cheese's yesterday July 10th, 2018. I was visiting Glen Burnie and I had known about this location for years but never got around to going. I knew it was an older store and they had the original Chuck E. Cheese's animatronics from the 1980's so I wanted to see it myself. And it was a very nice store! The games, food, the animatronic show, the live show, the fact that they still have the tunnels, it's a great store! I had asked someone there(I think she was a manager) if they were getting the new CEC 2.0 remodel and she said yes and I asked if they were removing the animatronic stage show and she said unfortunately yes. And I told her that was disappointing bc I'm a fan of the animatronics and I actually came there just to see them. She smiled and nicely said, "Well they have until August so you can come in and see them until then". I live in New Jersey so I can't really travel hours again to see something I already saw so I had to say goodbye to the old animatronics which was sad. :( But that's what really stood out to me and what made me write this review. The workers there were really nice, and helpful too. They saw that my brother and I wanted to play basketball together on both hoops but one of them was broken so he came and fixed it! He also fixed various games and rides in the arcade too. Another great thing was the live show. Now seeing as CEC wants to remove the animatronics in favor of a dance floor (a lame one while you're at it) they will be focusing more on the Chuck E. Live Show and ticket splash. Now I don't wanna start a rant here but I don't think they need to do all of this bc most of the locations I go to either don't do Chuck E. Live or the guy in the suit looks really bored and like he doesn't wanna be there. This Chuck E. was one of the bests I've seen in a while. There was nobody at the performance but he was still having fun and dancing without anybody there. I guess with the dance floor they wanna attract kids with the lights and stuff but I personally think of spending this much money on installing new light up dance floors that make certain people(including myself and loyal guests that come here for the animatronics) unhappy, maybe work on improving the show? Idk. I just mean to make the show look more attractive and attract guests. But yeah,...
Read moreIt was a blast, from the past but with a lively twist. The days of the old Chuck E. Cheese with the creepy automated robots are over. They have modernized and have a cool selection of games. I felt like it shrunk in size. I remember as a kid it used to be bigger and it had more games for kids to play. But my daughter and I enjoyed it from start to finish. I was interested in the pass, but I purchased a few hours for my daughter instead and will definitely purchase a monthly pass. The gentleman at the door greeted us as soon as we entered into this new experience for my daughter and I. We were then pleasantly greeted, by a wonderful lady with red hair and her other female associates. They were attentively helping out the customers and catering to their needs. The line was cleared expeditiously and everyone was satisfied including myself. The staff were definitely making sure, the experience was one for my daughter and myself to remember. We got a pizza and some drinks. The pizza was definitely delicious. The sauce was flavorful the cheese combo it was a blast from the past. My daughter had never been so when Chuck E. Cheese came out she was excited to see him. I’m a pleased, at how they have revamped him to look more kid friendly. Also, I was intrigued by the sign language that was being taught on the projection screen, it made the atmosphere even more inclusive. After we ate the exceptionally cooked pizza, we went to play the variety of games. I remember there were more games before the revamp. I was impressed with the new direction they are going in. I will definitely return to this...
