Subway — Restaurant in Fishers

I usually write positive reviews to highlight great service, but I had a disappointing experience at this Subway (inside Walmart in Fishers, Indiana) that I feel is worth sharing.

I ordered a combo meal (sandwich, fountain drink, chips). The employee told me the fountain drink machine was broken and offered a bottled drink instead. I agreed, as long as the price would be the same. When I paid, the price seemed higher than expected, but I figured I could check the receipt to be sure.

When I asked for a receipt, the employee said the receipt machine was broken. He picked up the machine and tugged on the cables. When I insisted on a receipt, he offered a refund but asked for my card again. I declined, because I was concerned that he wouldn’t be able to provide a receipt for the refund either—and I didn’t want to risk losing both the food and the money if the refund wasn’t processed correctly.

When I asked to speak to a manager, he mumbled something under his breath in a language I didn’t understand and then said there was no manager available. I went to Walmart customer service, and someone there accompanied me back to the store to ask when a manager would be in. The response was “Monday at 12 AM” (which I assume meant 12 PM), but I wasn’t able to return due to work.

I submitted an online complaint to Subway customer service and received the same generic response twice saying the issue was “resolved,” even though no one followed up or addressed the actual concerns.

Ordered through the app. Got to location no one behind counter. Guy comes out, blank stare no greeting. Tell him I have a mobile order. More dead staring. Hands me my sub. Remind that I ordered a drink. Picks up cup, stares at it...hands it to me, walks away. I eat there. All tables are dirty. I sit at least dirtiest one. Nope, looks like there's pubic hair on it. Take food 5 minutes back to work to eat. Bread is completely stale, chewy and tough. That will be my last time spending money at this location. I just had the worst rotisseri chicken and bacon wrap I've ever had at a Subway here. The bacon was barely cooked and was mostly fat. It tasted like it had been sitting out for days. The chicken also had an old and cold taste to it. It was unedibile.

The service was fine, however accessing this Subway is awkward as you have to navigate a lot of people shopping at walmart. Many of them are standing around the Subway counter but aren't there for Subway. I will never return to...
