Not my jam but clearly a popular place. I'll tell you what I liked and what I didn't and judge for yourself. I went on a Saturday mid morning hoping for a nice easy breakfast and coffee. The place was sorta busy, more than 50 percent occupied, but plenty of seats still available. The music was so loud, some kind of rap, and groups of people shouting conversations over the music. It sounded more like a night club than a cafe. I decided to order to go. I ordered an americano and breakfast burrito. I thought 22 bucks was a bit steep, make that 26 with their minimum tip option of 18 percent. It took about 20 minutes for the americano to come out and about 20 more before the burrito came out. I'm sure I waited at least 40 minutes for a to-go order. I could not wait to leave that place. The americano and burrito were pretty good, it seemed quality, except I didn't like the large chunks of potato that were quite firm, as in undercooked.
TLDR the service was extremely slow and impersonal, it was expensive for what it was, and the atmosphere was awful. The coffee was excellent, and the food was ok.
I don't think I'll be making a point if going back. If you know your way around Flagstaff you can do better for the money, or get just as good for cheaper. This place seems to get plenty of business so I'm sure they...
Read moreDrove 2 hours or so from Surprise, on a Sunday- got there about 10-10:30 or so. Lucky enough to grab the largest round table near the window as a party of 6. The place itself is small but homey and charming. Sat down and and browsed the menu(servers watching us do this mind you), and then attempted to place an order unsure on how as no server thought to tell us how this might work. After waiting 10min or so in line to order- finally was my turn and I was told there would be an HOUR WAIT for food. I was shocked!! There are full service high quality fancy restaurants that my family and I frequent that don't take that time. Extremely disappointed and obviously did not want to wait so I had to readjust and re plan the day and where we could go eat elsewhere. I think if you know and pay attention to your weekend rush, you should consider hiring accordingly? Imagine all the lost business and opportunity there- all the families like mine that just walk out...unsure we'll come back, concerned to have the same experience as we do...
Read moreIt pains me to say how fabulous this restaurant is because then it will get the attention it deserves and getting a seat will become difficult. They say you can taste the difference between cooking from a recipe and cooking from the heart. The food here underscores the truth of that adage. Not only is the chef a wizard with flavors, the delight his mom shares in working alongside him fairly inhabits every bite. Dang. It’s just so good. We tried the avocado toast which is next level. No need for bold or biting spices, the vegetables, etc hold their own. The house granola bowl with orange slices was a more generous portion than we needed, but we finished it anyway because it was so yummy. So yummy. The grilled brioche, ricotta, and lemon curd is an absolute delight. Beautifully presented and delicious. I chose the sunrise coffee because it was odd. Be sure you stir up the oj. The seltzer gives a lovely bite. Again, a remarkable creation. Indoor and outdoor seating invite you to settle in and enjoy these marvelous...
