Eating the food here marks a special point in a man’s life.
Let’s chat about a divine encounter that redefined the very essence of indulgence and the human waistline. I’m talking about experiencing the serpentine allure of the best pizza and wings on this planet-who-cares-about-calories. For my taste buds, it was a sunset and fireworks kind of meal, the likes of which made even my so-called ‘best’ home-cooked meals look like poorly engineered space debris.
Imagine, if you will, a pizza with a crust so flawless, it sings my taste-buds to an Italian opera while I drown myself in a cheese-filled swimming pool without sending any lifeguards (or conscious guilt-trips) in after me. Toppings balanced upon this base like a ballet troupe.
Then come the wings. Oh, the wings! I would advise keeping a fire extinguisher handy as devouring these impeccably sauced morsels of heaven could potentially combust the uninitiated. Mildly spiced and daringly crispy, they took me on a culinary odyssey and had my chicken-loving heart break its own speed record to not miss even one sticky mouthful.
Regrettably, they might have missed vilifying my bathroom scale repeatedly, as unbeknownst to it, it’s now trapped in a passive-aggressive trial of guilt and (temporary) abstinence, whispering accusations about "caloric treason" in the dead of night.
Ultimately, I have emerged not wiser, but certainly more rotund and satisfied, from an edible escapade that both ignited my hunger and shamed its consequences. Beware: the best pizza and wings ever is a mythological beast not to be lightly encountered by any calorie counter—or father figure on a New...
Read moreNimarcos Pizza near historic downtown Flagstaff was a most welcoming culinary surprise upon my return trip from a lengthy excursion at the Grand Canyon. Feeling quite ravenous after enduring several days of strenuous hiking and trying to stomach some less than mediocre, over-priced food offerings within the vast confines of an otherwise spectacular natural wonder of the world, I decided to give this place a go.
I have eaten my fair share of pizza (Chicago, New York, Mexican style, along with all of the different national chain pizza places) all across the country, over numerous years (from border to border and from ocean to ocean) and can truly say, that Nimarcos is - hands down - the best, most delicious and completely unsurpassed pizza that I have ever tried.
This place truly deserves many kudos for their outstanding, top notch pizza. I also liked the way that their food ordering system is arranged. You walk in, place your order at the front counter, get your drink, go sit down and relax; then before you know it, they bring your delicious pizza out to your table piping hot and ready to be devoured with pleasure from the first to the last bite.
The overall atmosphere of this pizzeria is really nice too. I started out dining inside, but ended up finishing my thoroughly enjoyable meal outside on the patio area adjoining the restaurant, while sipping on a cold root beer and watching the gorgeous...
Read moreI used to love this place a lot when I first moved here. I used to get cheap pizza around close. I used to enjoy the lunch special and the special slices but within the last couple years this place doesn't feel as friendly.
Interaction with the Front of House has been lacking. The quality of my orders hasn't been very good.
But I love the wings from this place.
On my latest visit, post Covid, I placed and order and went to sit outside. All the tables were empty but dirty and had been for a while. After standing for about 8 minutes someone came out and finally cleared the tables. But they hadn't been wiped or stocked with paper towels. I waited an additional 5 minutes and Noone came out so I just took the sanitized towel and wiped it down myself. And found a paper towel dispenser and wiped that with the sanitized towel.
My pizza order came out, it was warm. Not hot, not cold, just warm. I really didn't want to go in and ask for another so I ate it.
Someone finally came out and checked on me. Asked how everything was and I just said ok not wanting to create a fuss.
The atmosphere of this place is nice. It is very rustic and fitting of Flagstaff. Large out door patio and good beer selection.
The pizza is ok, but the wings are really good. I'm not gonna lie, if you want some good pizza on the cheap Fratellis up the road has some decent deals and I'm a regular there and they always...
