We arrived at oreganos at 3:30pm. The hostess was amazing. He was funny and great at what he did. He used to manage the Gilbert, AZ location so maybe he was the manager of this one? Not sure what the oregano polo signifies instead of their funny shirts. We promptly ordered our food, 2 pastas and a 12" pizza. (Yes only 3 of us so not a large party by any means) An hour goes past and a different manager comes out and said due to lack of room in the pizza oven the pizza will be out shortly but the pasta just finished so he can bring that out. I completely understood, that's fine I get it. But when the pasta came out it was cold and the noodles were almost hard from sitting out so long. The table next to us who ordered 30 min after us, magically got their large pizza before our small 12" one. So CLEARLY management lied to our face. CLEARLY there was room in the oven but someone forgot to cook our pizza. When confronted about it he said he isn't in the kitchen so he doesn't know, even though he is the manager. Your a pretty horrible manager if you can't manage the kitchen! If you lie straight to the customers face and it's obvious, your a horrible manager. Honesty would have gone far, "hey there was a mishap in the shift exchange and your pizza ticket got lost. But it will be out shortly" would have been perfectly fine. He offered to remake our cold pasta but we were worried they would forget about that and then lie and say there wasn't room so they just reheated the pasta. So glad I paid full price for reheated pasta...yum. During the time of our simple meal we witnessed the table next to us go through a party of 2 with an appetizer and pizza and leave and another party sit eat their meal and cash out at the same time. Yay for 2 hours of dining with a sh*y manager. But Farrah, our server, was wonderful! She handled the situation wonderfully. There was a shift change during our 2 hour experience so she probably had no idea what was going on until it happened. Cory (I hope I spelt her name right) was very, very nice as well. She was our original server. So big shout out to the amazing staff at this location, hopefully you can teach your awful manager...
Read moreI’ve been debating on this review for almost a week. After talking to some other folks, who have gone to this location, I decided I might as well. I went with my mom and a few other kiddos for lunch last week. Our server was terrible!!!. She never got us refills. I had a flag her down to do so, had to ask her to take all these cups that were building up on our table. I had to flag her down for everything we needed, including our check in the end. She went to the table behind us, no other tables were by us, and just completely ignored us the entire time. We ordered three slices of pizza, a boneless wings with sweet potato fries, and a bowl of pasta. It took over 49 minutes for it to come to our table. My son’s kids pizza slice was completely burnt. I was definitely not gonna ask for another one. We had been there long enough . The wings were cold . By the time we got our food, the restaurant was pretty much cleared out. Mind you it was around lunchtime but it was not that busy and there were tables that came in after us that left before us. My mom and I got super sick from the pizza that night, I could still taste it. I threw my sons away. Come to find out a friend of ours, went to the same location, and said the same thing that the food was terrible the service was awful! My family, and I usually go to the other side and it’s always been wonderful, attentive, in and out, and I’ve never had any problems with getting sick. We won’t be dining at this...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went to this Oregano's for the second time tonight. We were very very happy with our experience. We got there and the guy informed us it was going to be about an hour wait, we were hesitant to wait that long, however the longer we were there the more we appreciated it. We overheard the manager, John, talking to almost every customer on a personal level as they walked in to the restaurant and came out. He went up to a couple that had never been to there before, and he offered to buy their dessert that he highly suggested. And then he came up to a couple that had been waiting for a while and apologized and gave them an estimated time remaining, and if it got too late and they kept waiting he would start paying for some of their meal. We got sat, and our waiter, Donovan, really made the experience so much better. He was very friendly, and very likable. He made us laugh, and he was on top of everything. We never were left waiting for more drinks, or waiting too long for food. He was awesome. This was the type of restaurant experience that we look forward too, and it was just such a refreshing and genuine experience. John is running a great place. We will definitely be back, not only for the food, but for the amazing customer...
