They are sooo nice! We were turned away from another restaurant and stuck out in the cold looking for another. We took a chance on this place and so glad we did. The manager was friendly from the moment we opened the door. “Will it just be the three of you?” (service animal was the third). Awwww😊. It’s not crowded, and it’s small, but there was a lot of space to stretch out.
I’m writing this the day after the visit and I thought, “that was a really good burger”. I don’t usually order burgers and I normally find a pic on google before ordering, but I had a good feeling. This is because I’m usually disappointed and wondering why I didn’t just go to a drive thru if I was going to get the same taste. I didn’t ask for a specific doneness and I’m glad I didn’t. Perfect! Juicy and flavorful. Not many people can make a burger flavorful without overdoing the seasonings. The pickles were quality and not the over salty and mushy sadness other places have. The tomatoes were crisp and fresh. The bun was a decent thickness without being an disproportionate amount of bread and dryness as well as toasted and ?buttery? The server was attentive and down-to-earth. We both like the same barbecue sauce so he will be remembered. The place was cozy. It was clean. There was hand sanitizer in various spots. The TVs were on a variety of channels. They’re veteran friendly. Most importantly, the food was delicious and I didn’t have a greasy/dirty feeling after eating. Thanks again. We...
Read moreStopped by to get a drink. The young bartender had 3 people/friends at the bar, otherwise completely empty. We sat in the bar for at least ten minutes. Nobody even looked up or acknowledged us at all whatsoever. Not once. They were literally just standing there doing nothing, it was like we were invisible. After 12 minutes or so, we got up and walked out. Still nothing. It was unreal.. Fire that kid. Unless you don't want patrons/ to make money? Lol I will absolutely email you with your lies. Fire the kid was obviously extreme, but what a ridiculous answer to horrendous customer service. Update: customer service 101. Simply acknowledge that someone walked into the establishment. That's it. Would have been totally different. Also the bar was not full haha. Would love to see sales from your bar, and every other bar in a 2 block radius. EVERYONE else's was actually full. It's just a simple customer service fact that it starts from the top. (Problems) and maybe if you stop bullying customers and telling them they're wrong you could learn somethinh
I did read the other reviews haha sounds like the neighborhood loves you. I would love if you could post the video on this website of your bartender's not even looking up to acknowledge people walking into your bar and then defend that service. Ridiculous and childish but totally fine again that's why your bar was empty and we had to wait for every other...
Read moreI have been to Southside Tavern about five times. I generally go for music and drinks on Thursday nights.
There is a large selection of liquor, and modest selection of draft beer. There is not much wine, although they do have some unusual bottles in the small selection. I have not tried the food.
I really enjoy karaoke on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Charlie is a great karaoke host. He has a large selection and is great at engaging with customers. Other customers are generally encouraging, regardless of the song. I have seen everything from Under The Sea (Little Mermaid), to Stairway to Heaven, to Rob Zombie performed here, and it all goes over pretty well.
The jukebox normally opens around 7:30-8:00p. Some hard rock and metal is filtered, but overall, the jukebox is pretty open.
There are three general areas - the bar area, which is brightly lit and feels the most active; the activity area with nuanced lighting, karaoke, pool, and TVs; and the outside patio with a fire pit and lounge seating. Each area is well-kept.
Other customers are pretty relaxed. I have not seen anything resembling aggression or blatant rudeness here.
I recommend Southside Tavern for the cocktails...
