Brand new spot in Flagstaff.
Lots of sandwiches on the menu.
Pastries on the counter in display cases.
Coffee and a few other beverages served.
This was early on in their existence so I don't want to be too critical as it was also Labor Day Weekend and they were super busy.
Lines were long but everyone was patient.
We order 2 coffees and 2 sandwiches and a pastry.
Sandwiches were ok. I'll check back in a few weeks to see if there were improvements made and perhaps this was just overwhelmingly busy lackluster. B-
Coffee was very good. A
Pastry was also delicious. A
As a self advertised "Baking Co." I would expect their Sandwiches to be made on home made bread. We'll see.
Decor is contempo-minimal-industrial. A
Very big patio area with benches but a few more tables and chairs would be nice. In time it seems like a nice place to hang out and disappear for a minute. B
Overall, I'll be back and try some other items on...
Read moreMy usual breakfast place was ridiculously busy, so they told me about this place that had just opened up.
I saw they had a “make-your-own sandwich” option, so I asked for a BLT on sourdough. First, it cost $13, no sides except for a pickle. Second, this BLT cost more than their croque monsieur. Third, they don’t have lettuce but had arugula or spinach. If you have a make your own sandwich option, why the heck don’t you have lettuce?? But the fact that they had arugula and spinach tells me about the level of pretentiousness.
Lastly, they screwed up my order. The lady who took my order (I think it was the owner) replaced the tomato with cheddar. So, I didn’t get a BLT but a BAC. No wonder my pathetic sandwich cost $13.
I get they are new, didn’t get their shipments of eggs or milk, and didn’t anticipate the Labor Day crowd, but none of that should have affected getting my order right.
The level of incompetence...
Read moreThey are seriously understaffed. The cashier also works as a barista, along with taking drink orders out to the back courtyard. (She also spent time chatting with a fellow employee as the line of customers was snaking all of the way out to the entrance.) The cashier does not have any place to wash their hands after handling money. They just turn & start preparing the drink orders. (I would imagine that this is an OSHA violation.) We ordered the Maine sandwich and a build your own turkey sandwich on a ciabatta roll. Quality was seriously lacking on both sandwiches. I was told that there would be pesto on the ciabatta roll and it was dry and the add-on ingredients on the sandwich were barely discernible. There are a few tables in the back courtyard with rickety chairs. Stable furniture and patio umbrellas would greatly enhance the area Unfortunately, we will not be back and I cannot recommend...
