The store manager (Morgan) was reported to the Chief of Police & head Sargeant with the Flagstaff Police Dept. in October 2023 for failing to handle a safety issue in the cafe - a dangerous man carrying a knife who began harassing me. There were 4 other witnesses who supported me in standing up to the man. The manager however did nothing & had stared me down during the 4 hours I was in the cafe studying & working on my laptop; her behavior towards me was already hostile & aggressive before the harassment began from a male customer with a knife who was displaying erratic & strange behavior. Instead of handling it, Morgan had asked me to leave the cafe & not return & I told her I was already leaving & that she didn't even have to ask, that I would never want to come back to such a poorly managed store & I don't deal with aggressive women who clearly have issues with confident female customers. Morgan contacted a personal contact (a police officer she knew personally, red flags...) & she told him that I wouldn't leave which was a false report of the situation (which is a criminal offense) & with 4 or 5 other witnesses present to this event, & none were interviewed. I was already on my way out the door & had packed up my things when the officer arrived. Officer Hutchinson who was her personal friend & contact (red flags), he began questioning me & being rude & aggressive, unprofessional towards me & did not act in accordance with the law that day as member of the Arizona Police force. Officer Hutchinson showed bias, discrimination, & misogyny, & even made some sly remarks regarding me being a successful female entrepreneur. I ended the conversation immediately after I told him I studied Law as one of my focuses during university & graduated with my Bachelor's degree + Master's level coursework also. I know my legal rights & I refused to talk with him further & left immediately. Once my Uber arrived, Officer Hutchinson came out of the cafe & started yelling at me from the sidewalk to never come back there & threatened me. That kind of behavior from a police officer and store manager is unlawful & disgusting & the lowest type of behavior as members of society. They were both reported and are on record. As an educated entrepreneur & young female professional, I will never step foot in a Starbucks now, knowing that those types of people are allowed in your store & seeing that clearly sexual harassment, crime, & harassment from a police officer are allowed at Starbucks. Disgusting. Morgan should be fired, as should Officer Hutchinson. We don't need people like that serving the general public or an officer who clearly doesn't "protect & serve" the community. No thanks, I'll stick to my high-end craft coffee experiences during travels & my...
Read moreI've been in Starbucks around the country ~ hundreds of them...
This Starbucks has one of the very best Store Managers I've ever had the good fortune in 30 years of Hospitality/Customer Service to experience. His name is Jason, and his warm smile and caring personality is worth driving 300 miles out of the way to experience. Just to meet this person, does not require caffeine. He is a charming and stellar Human Being.
Then, there is this other A.M. Manager that covers opening shifts when Jason is not available. (She just told me that my lukewarm/cold morning coffee, WAS NOT lukewarm/cold ~ that it was"freshly brewed" and "the way it is"... and I've been ordering this drink since she was in diapers 🧐). Then she gave me a bunch of attitude --- when I asked her for a fresh cup --- just before drawing from a streaming pot in midbrew. And she's a Manager teaching "partners" these broken ways! So much for the forgotten barista promise.🤔
Half the Staff here can hold their own candle of light to such darkness, and are a complete charm to visit ~ Shayne, Bailey, Autumn, Stephanie, Noah... a couple of others.
The other half are persuaded by the darkness, such of that by poor leadership when Jason or Danny are not around. 10 stars to Jason and his crew, for being Exceptional... Among the best in the country. One star to the rest of them because they clocked-in, appear to have a pulse, and mostly because Google reviews require atleast one star to post a review.
I am starting to wonder why I come here anymore. The teeter-totter is seemingly broken at this location, and the fulcrum it tenuously balanced on is picking up momentum as the very atmosphere and culture of Hospitality and Customer Service is rapidly sliding down hill, at Starbucks in particular, and at this location specifically.
I feel like I'd have better odds gambling at the Craps Table. It's time to see other coffee shops, Starbucks on Milton in Flagstaff. Snicker at that through your partners headsets like it is...
Read moreUnpleasant experience. I usually go to a different store but I wanted to redeem a free drink reward which I couldn't do at my usual Starbucks. I was on my way into work, left much earlier in case the store was busy. It wasn't. The barista on register took my order quickly and I sat down and waited. I saw lots of stickers on cups so I assumed many mobile orders or drive through orders were keeping them busy. After 15 minutes I went to try to get someone's attention. I tried to wave down any barista that looked at me but got ignored for a bit. Very frustrated I finally got someones attention and asked about my drink....which was non-existent. She said she didnt have my caramel macchiato for me, and began making one. She began talking about the printer running out of stickers or something leaving drinks unmade which I thought was irresponsible as it is. If that's a popular way customers order its important to have the stickers, however my drink was ordered at the register and the cup was written on. So I have no clue why she was trying to talk about stickers. I hsf customized my drink since I used a free reward and didn't get any customizations. She threw together a normal one. Considering I already waited 25 minutes for a single drink and had 5 minutes to clock into work I had to leave. Waste of time and my reward. Ill have to find somewhere...
