Sadly, another one of go to places is coming off our list due to poor service.
Tonight's experience: "Is it ok to bring salad before appetizer?" One guest said yes so it was too late for me to say no. Not how it works. Appetizer. Calamari. Would have said something about it being a bit over fried but our server never returned to check on how it was. Not one refill on water, which is a small glass to start with full of ice. Had to ask another server to help us out. Main courses served on table before clearing salad and appetizer plates. I made a comment. No ask if we needed refills or another beer (non- alcoholic) when main course served. Not even a "do we need anything else?" Never returned to ask how the main courses were. That is a complete fail as a server. Totally unacceptable. Returned when we were done eating to a simple, "ready for boxes?" That would have been the time to ask about dessert and I might have been interested. Now I was just annoyed. Boxes delivered and now the ask about dessert....... Bags for the boxes were put on the table, no "can I bag these for you?"
While I was waiting for the check, I watched the booth next to us being bussed. The table was wiped down and the dirty rag placed on a chair. The bussing bin was placed on the booth seat, filled with dirty dishes and removed. The next guest sat down on whatever was on the bottom of the bin.and the rag. Poor training and just plain gross to think I probably was sitting in the same situation.
Anyone who has been here knows its popular and always busy. But yet there are empty tables. That is because I think they pay more attention to the take out orders than the in house guests.
This was a Thursday, I can only imagine a Friday or Saturday.
Vero has grown so much in the last two years I am afraid that the Italian Grill couldn't keep up. Yes, I know staffing is a problem everywhere. Train the staff you do have to do the job right.
Atmosphere is totally ruined with the constant take out business.
Sad to see one of my favorite dishes in town go at a place I have frequented dozens of time, but there are plenty of options in Vero for good food and good service. Time to move on.
I'll end on a positive note. Thank you for not putting the cash or credit bs...
Read moreHi, My husband and I are new to the area and have been trying out all the restaurants. The Italian Grill caught my eye and based on its ratings we decided to give it a try last night. It was a Tuesday evening, we arrived around 5:30 pm. The restaurant was about half filled in the front room and we were immediately seated. Our table was directly in front of the bar so not much ambience. The restaurant itself if very nice and appeared to be clean. Our waiter was a young man named Brett. He took our drink order which were a couple of soft drinks. No water was offered. Soft drinks are $2.99 and refills are free. He returned to take our food order, I ordered the baked Italiano dish and my husband ordered the lasagna. One specific soup (minestrone) or salad (garden with either vinaigrette or creamy Italian) is included with your meal. You can up grade your soup and salad dressing for an additional cost. I asked for my dressing on the side but did not get it that way. It was drowning my small salad. The waiter returned with my salad, my husband got the soup. Bread served was a single roll cut in strips sprinkled with parmigiana cheese and garlicky butter. The menu says that food is cooked to order but ours came in about 15 minutes. Any real Italian could tell that the sauce had been cooked so long that it had burnt at some point. It was very dark in color and had that taste. The meal itself was ok, I ate about half. Sausage was good, meatball was bland, pasta was tough, eggplant rotelli was horrible. I stop eating and took the rest to go. My husband seemed to enjoy the lasagna except for the burnt sauce. The waiter was attentive, got us refills on our drinks and did inquire about the meal. The meal and drinks came to $35 plus change and we left $45.00. Fast forward 3 hours, I’m sitting watching tv and get terrible stomach cramps, take some pepto bismol. Next day pains and diarrhea. Sorry don’t want to be gross just truthful. Not sure if it was the salad or the cheese filling but something was bad. Not sure if we’ll ever return, we’ll probably go try other restaurants. Live and Learn. My rating is for over dining and experience not...
Read moreMy wife and I came here based on reviews and cars out front. We ordered bruschetta as well as their version of mozzarella sticks. The fried mozzarella was good but the bruschetta was awful. They put a ton capers and olives in the mixture. I don't know why other than to be different but it was bad. No fresh cheese in any of the dishes(olive garden offers fresh parmeasean).
The bread that came to the table was a joke. No flavor. Need to swap with brushetta bread.
My wife ordered the Mediterranean and i got the chicken marsala. My pasta was overcooked and they did not know to cook the wine off more. Every bite was wine.
The Grilled Mediterranean the shrimp were good but the sausage was dry. The pasta had no flavor,no seasoning. It had so much oil neither one of us could eat it. Literally all you tasted.
The plates were covered in parsley....have you not seen Gordon ramsey? Professional restaurants stopped this years ago. It serves no purpose as the food should speak for itself.
I ordered a meatball on the side just to try....it too was nothing special.very mild flavor.
The service and atmosphere were good but the food was completely lacking.
For paying 20 to 30 a plate plus appatizers. For a 100.00 meal they need to seriously go to the Italian place in juno Beach. Uncle Giuseppies has fresh ingredients and they know how to cook their food.
I feel like this place is coasting based on the limited options in the area. I don't want a restaurant to go but the management/owners needs to get more involved or find a new chef. My wife and i both got sick to our stomachs later in the evening. We will not be back.
The host in his 50's was even drinking martinis during peak serving hours. Not...
