I was all excited when Carvel finally opened and it was great at first. The daily specials were such a good deal, we began a tradition of Friday Night Banana Barge for dinner! The deal is buy one get one for 50% off. Outside of getting the kids there to know HOW to make a Banana Barge (not difficult), they always seemed to pass me along... "you make it,...no you make it...no you make it", until they finally got one kid who actually liked making them for us every week. He is an absolute darling! If they ran out of bananas, someone would run out and get more. It was great for a long time! But then it all went downhill fast from there. I'm guessing he's the owner... he started showing up and his staff started changing rapidly. I patiently waited as a couple of kids asked if I needed help and he sent them to do other things, only to keep me waiting while he continued to make ice cream sandwiches. Finally, he takes my order and then takes forever to make 2 Banana Barges. He rings them up and it's just shy of full price for both. I asked why am I being charged for extra toppings? He said, "you added a topping!" Me:What did I add?? There's the picture on the poster and the menu... 2 ice creams with hot fudge, strawberries, whipped cream, cherries and nuts. Him: You added nuts. Me: You advertise it with nuts. Him: No.. that's just a picture. Me: What?? He charged me almost $3 for a tablespoon of nuts on 2!! You're only saving about $4 on one. I continued to ask him why the picture didn't say exactly what you were getting for the $8.99 or show it without the nuts and other toppings. He told me I was wrong and the picture didn't matter. Clearly, he doesn't like the corporate decision to run this special and wants to make more money! I told him he needed to get his signs fixed because it was false advertising. (Did I mention the signs for the ALL the other sundaes did not show anything extra besides the ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry?? That would mean anything other than that is extra!) I paid the extra and left. Went back 2 more times after that.... Hey! Guess what?? He is there, with a full staff, and he has NO BANANAS ON A FRIDAY NIGHT!🤔 The ONLY night they advertise the BANANA BARGE deal?? Imagine that! Yeah...I'm done with this location!! When you get a franchise and advertise the corporate specials, you don't conveniently "run out of" what the deal of the day is! Buyer beware! P.S. Found a FANTASTIC ice cream shop in downtown Vero... 2 kids, Great Service, REAL ice cream, bananas, whipped cream, 3 toppings, sprinkles, nuts, whipped cream, cherry... did I mention 3 scoops of ice cream???.... for less than...
Read moreThis was the worst experience I’ve ever had anywhere in Vero Beach. The picture on the door shows the orange dreamy creamy ice cream in a cup and on a cone. I asked for it in the cup and it did not appear as the photo with the cookies in it. The man explained to me he gave me the soft serve instead and the cookies were in the hard ice cream. I told him that’s what I was asking for was the ice cream in the cup from the photo. Rather than correct the mistake and give me what I was trying to buy he said, “well I’ve already made this one.” I again explained that’s not what I wanted and I didn’t ask for soft serve. Are you saying I can’t have what I asked for? He said, “No I’ve already made this.” The arrogance was stunning so I walked out. I shouldn’t be expected to pay for something I didn’t want or be refused what I did actually order. This is not how business is done. I would never recommend this...

Used Carvel online to order a cake delivery. Received a friendly phone call (from Dan) before delivery day to confirm order and personalization. A third party delivery service really botched the job. It was comical! :) Dan had a new cake ready to go and we opted to not use delivery and the caked was picked up instead.
This Carvel was not at fault for what happened yet Dan went out of his way with keeping in touch (phone calls and email, trying to work with delivery service) and making sure everyone was happy. Very nice person; stellar customer service!!! The beloved cake picker uppers just so happen to frequent this location and next time I'm in town I'll definitely say hi give my support--...
