This is from my mother in law Darlene Dowdy. Let me start by saying wow, what an experience. This Establishment and its employees is what I would hope For every town , not just one in need! I was given True Grace and Humanity, at a time I didn't know my family and I needed this form of compassion. After being hit by an F3 tornado then Hurricane Milton and not having power or water for weeks, I was finally able to replenish the freezers and fridge at my elderly parents home in Spanish lakes Retirement community (one of the hardest hit by the tornado). I was exhausted physically as well as mentally after weeks of survival mode but it was a God send to have power and water back. Talking with my husband on the phone, he asked what I wanted and Outback was what I was craving, it's one of my favorites. He said go to the one in Vero Beach. I went excitedly to order. While ordering I was chatting with some of the Patrons and Employees , I had mentioned I was coming from Spanish Lakes retirement community and kept chatting. About 6 to 7 minutes later the bartender/manager in training Amber Bishop came over to me to say she had overheard how I was coming from Spanish lakes and asked If I and my parents were doing OK. I said yes we are OK. My parents and I are alive and i couldn't be more thankful for that. She then replied with a huge hug and embrace while saying our dinner was completely comped and her treat. This spoke to me. It wasn't a free meal. It was that a fellow person recognized the feeling and pain of loosing so much and being so devastated by the trauma around you that she took it upon herself to make things just a bit lighter to handle , to take one piece of the day and give a smile on some strangers faces. This is what I would hope for all towns, is a restaurant with people like these running the show in the background waiting for someone to even share a smile with. Thank you for your acts of kindness and generosity , it meant more then you know and I will be paying it forward!! I will be making this my number 1 staple in ordering out !! Thank you again amber and all at the Outback 6040 Elon Ln, Vero...
Read moreOk, so we were out to eat. The kitchen messed up with one of our plates of food. They added cheese to a burger, and we specifically asked NO cheese. We asked for a manager. When the manager came up to the table, she said, "So, I hear we have a problem problem?" Well, we didn't have a problem. The problem was with them. The manager should have come up and started with. I'm sorry to hear that we made a mistake with your food. BARBARA, the manager on staff, needs customer service training. We were all eating our food and digging into it. BARBARA wanted to take the food that they made a mistake on and recook the burger. Basically, giving us no choice, we could be rude and eat in front of the person treating us or wait to eat our steaks while we wait to get the burger re cooked. NOT ACCEPTABLE. You NEVER take food off the table once everyone gets their food. We asked that they simply make it right and make the burger that we ordered, and they could rap it up to go. Barbara again made the 2nd mistake. She said she was going to charge us for them both. To re make the one, they messed up and brought a new one ? makes no sense. Really? At this point, I've never heard sorry for their mistake, and we were given options that were unacceptable. I specifically said, "I don't want to talk with you anymore. I've worked in the restaurant business and this is unacceptable. YOUR DISMISSED" The manager then continued on saying what and I repeated myself "Your DISMISSED and I don't want to talk with you. She asked if I wanted her business car, and I specifically said NO. She left the table and sent her business cards with someone else who was working. I again said no, thank you. Our waitress Sara was great and would give her 5 stars. Barbara gets 0 stars, but hopefully training.
Update Zane called. Appologized and agreed that the situation was handled wrong. The next time we went in the service was much better and the food was amazing. Hopefully, it continues, and Barbara handles mistakes from the kitchen...
Read moreThings end up, turning around for the better thank you to the manager for accommodating, a free dessert and Chardonnay. my boyfriend always know that we can go get a great steak from outback . This particular night was Valentines night. 2/14/25 We decided to come around 9:45 10 o’clock things died down from earlier that day. They were busy. This is why we chose the time to come once we got there we were correct from our predictions. Things were slowing down our waitress I totally forgot her name but she’s a slim blonde. She took our drinks down and we were ready to order. I ordered a 9 ounce glass of Chardonnay and my boyfriend had a fruit punch. They brought out water and fruit punch. I was waiting on my glass of wine for 10 minutes into the wait . It was fresh and good wine .When I mention it to the waitress, she blamed everyone but herself. So we end up switching our order from the steak and chicken to steak and shrimp. The waitress never took off the orders and switched them out so they were just bringing us food We did not want .once the order got corrected. They brought out my food. Everything look good. My boyfriend is now waiting on his food. 15 minutes passed by and still no food for him and he’s not the type to really get angry about food or if his order was mixed up at this particular time he got angry because why is he waiting this long for his food when we ordered together? . Thanks to the manager he made things very accommodating by apologizing and reminding us that is Valentine’s Day they were crammed. I understood that my problem was with the waitress. She never came back to check on us. She never asked how was the food you have the other waiters coming out making sure our food is correct so all in all I had a great night and my dessert was free also GOOD and we tip the other waiter not our original waitress. She did not get a dime she...
