I was in there for lunch with my daughter and cousin yesterday. My daughter wanted a California roll but with salmon. I'm not really familiar with the menu ,so I was having a hard time communicating what I wanted to the server who was already having a hard time understanding me as was I him . He made no effort to explain the menu or tell me a better way to order what I was asking for. I said multiple times exactly what we wanted and he said he got it . Needless to say when we recieved our food it was wrong . So I called over another server and told her it was wrong , my daughter did eat 1 piece of the sushi before realizing it was not what she ordered. She again could barely understand what I was trying to communicate, tells us no problem and takes the plate . A couple minutes later I see her with the plate in hand call my server over as they step behind the wall I can very loudly hear her explaining what I had said . My daughter was so embarrassed we were in the back of the dining area so that means the people at the other tables could clearly hear them as well. Then he "the server takes the plate and carries it across the whole resturant to the front counter ,whole time we are feeling as if we have done something wrong . Then a few seconds later a later ,I am guessing a manager with plate in hand and server in toe comes storming through the restaurant toward our table where she lays the plate on our table where we ar trying to eat the food that was right and rudely asks what the problem was ? So I proceed to defend my self cause at this point we are being attacked ,so embarassing!! I again explain that it was not what I asked for as she then looks over her shoulder to my server who begins to say that I am not telling the truth !! After a few minutes at my table she says I will take it off ,but you did order it !! By then , we were so upset and embarrassed when my 13 year old daughters food got there she couldn't even eat !! As we left the lady whom I believe is the manager was at the front door ,wouldn't even look at us , no have a nice day anything . I dont care how good the food is I will never step foot in that...
Read moreToday I came to this Fujiyama, I am Japanese, I came with my wife and her American Family friend, we entered at 2:10 pm knowing that they close at 2:30 so we asked if it was ok to eat there at that time, to which they replied it was fine just the hibachi will not be available which was ok for us so they sat us anyway. However, our friend ordered chicken tempura But was served a chicken tempura roll, when we all clearly heard that she did not order a roll. When the waitress brought it we were a little surprised because it is not what she ordered. Absolutely, because she does not eat sushi rolls and cannot eat cucumber. So the waitress said rather rudely "I asked you TWO TIMES if you wanted chicken tempura ROLL" Apparently we didn't hear her say that at the time so we thought she understood us. But she gave an attitude that really ruined our mood for eating and made us feel very unwelcome. We do not recall the waitress' name but she was the taller of the waitress in the store. Additionally the food was not even Japanese... The taste was ok but not anything special. The waitress really ruined our experience by being so rude to a senior citizen and making us feel as if it was our fault and she was extremely inconvenienced and annoyed by us. Over a simple miscommunication, even after another staff came to explain we will not be charged for the roll he made it seem like he was doing something extremely kind and rare When I believe it is most restaurant's policy to accommodate a customer even if a mistake was made. We really regret tipping her more than 20% and tried to forget about it but later into the night we still felt upset and unhappy with the experience and decided to write this review. I hope another customer will not experience the same treatment as we did. They rushed us to order and sat near our table in order to make us feel we should leave faster. It really bothered our dining experience. If it was so much trouble they should not have agreed to seat us. I think we will never return to this restaurant and I really do not recommend this restaurant for an ENJOYABLE...
Read moreMe and my girlfriend just attempted to eat here. We were served our appetizer (edamame) and the bowl had used rice and remains of something else on the sides of it from improperly being washed. The butter dish has stickers in mint condition all over it which is concerning because I’d assume stickers would peel away in a dishwasher. As the food is done being served my girlfriend says to me they forgot my vegetables but it’s not a big deal. I said do you want me to say anything she says no it’s fine. At that same exact time the hibachi chef says “did I forget your vegetables—I’m sorry”. He then proceeds to scoop off some vegetables from another customers plate who was between the ages of 7 to 12 years old that has been picking his nose and eating with his fingers. He then proceeds to put them on my girlfriends plate. This is the most disturbing, unprofessional and unsanitary act I have seen in a restaurant. I went to the front and told the manager. It was clear we did not want a free meal, because my girlfriend had not touched a single thing on her plate. I said I am willing to still pay for my part of the food, but I’m not going to be paying for hers. They removed her portion of the meal from the bill and I proceeded to tip 20%. This is one of the most disturbing things that I could ever think of and I will be contacting the health department. The food is not bad here, so I really hate that we’re going to refrain from eating here again, but I would much rather that than have cross contamination of food with the risk of getting sick. This is...
