Within 5 minutes they lost my debit card!
I am extremely disappointed in this establishment. On the Fourth of July they were charging a $10 standing fee per person. I handed them my card despite thinking that it was a little wild to charge people to stand instead of just making a waitlist. Seating was not available, but the entrance fee remained even to just be allowed to stand. The worst part was that I provided my debit card to the host and he handed it to another staff member to make the charge. I was not informed my card was being transferred around and I was not informed that I needed to wait off to the side. I asked where my card went and I was informed. I then waited off to the side for 10 minutes. I then asked both men where my card was. The one running the card got snappy and said he was trying to get the cards charged. Then, 10 minutes later I see him taking customers so I ask him where my card is. He says, I gave it to you. I tell him no he didn’t. Then he turns around and continues to take customers. I tell the host about the situation and he they go back and forth blaming one another a little. The one that charges it finally steps up and starts looking for my card. He gets frantic. He informs a man who said he was the manager. The manager is there with family. I find him out back smoking a cigarette, after saying he’s going to look for my card. They legit all gave up looking for my card and tell me to lock it and order a new one… within less than an hour of spending time looking. The manager was more worried about spending time with his family than helping.
I start to cry and have a panic attack. They give me my $20 entrance fee in cash as a refund, but I’m now 10 days without a card or funds because I do not have any other bank accounts and I don’t have credit cards. I don’t have family here either, so I’m having to borrow money from my boyfriend and random people to eat and get to work because I don’t have access to get gas. The soonest my bank can get me a new card was 10 days because it was a holiday and a Friday, so it’s the start to a weekend. I literally am having bills bounce because my card automatic payment is attached to my card and they do not have it attached to my bank account. This has caused severe financial hardship and problems for me and they didn’t even care. This not only ruined my holiday, but is ruining my week… my life. I’m so pissed.
We intended to buy 2 meals and 4 drinks. We left hungry, and I left...
Read moreWe visited The Roof twice in less than a week but will never go back again after the experience we had. We thought it would be a great place withe great views and being co-located on top of Joe’s we thought it would be on top of its game. Boy we we wrong. The only reason I am even giving this two stars is because the first visit wasn’t too bad.
The first time we visited (there were five of us) was on a Saturday night and the place was packed. Wall to wall people. We go up to order our food and while we were waiting to order one of the employees tells us “sorry we’re closing” (they have Kim posted closing time but rather seem to close when they want). Luckily one of the bartenders chimed in and told that employee we had been in his line before the announcement of closing so he took our order. We had our food in about 15 minutes. It wasn’t bad. So when we were hungry a few days later on a Wednesday, we decided to go again. This time as AWFUL.
There were only about four groups of customers in the place. Much different than the previous time. We go and order our food (four of us ordered shrimp dishes, one of us ordered chicken tenders). Bill was about $115 after tip. So we paid and went to sit down. We were chatting and not paying attention, then we noticed a LOT of time had passed and we still did not have our food. A lady next to us kept getting up and going to complain (she didn’t have hers either)… so we figured they were aware of the issue or maybe having trouble and we didn’t not want to pile on. Plus we were hanging out and talking. 2.5 hours after we ordered and we still did not have our food, we’d had enough so one of us went up to the counter to ask. The girl said “Oh sorry, we’re OUT OF SHRIMP. At no time did anyone try to tell us this or communicate the issue to us. They just let us sit there waiting, maybe hoping we’d just give up and leave and they could keep their money. So of course, we demanded a refund. Turns out almost nobody in there at the same time go their food either.
I’m not sure who was running the place that night, but this is no way to treat customers. We will definitely...
Read moreDid not even bother to order. Me and my girlfriend got here, wanting to order dinner. Got a menu from the bartender right by the entrance. Sat down outside, and they do have an awesome outdoor area. I went back inside ready to order food for both of us. There was like 3 other dudes sitting in the bar, just drinking. The bartender ask around if anyone need something, and i hold up the menu she gave me just to signal i am ready to order. She then continues to tell me i have to wait in line just as everybody else, in an uptight tone, and dissappears around a corner. I think «allright cool, ill just wait here if anybody order stuff first is no problem». Then after standing there for another 5 minutes another guy comes out from the kitchen and tells me, if i want to order faster i can go to the outdoor bar and talk with the bartender there. I am standing there with the menu IN HAND, and answer «allright if that is faster, sure!» I walk out and wait for my turn to order. When it is my turn to order i ask «can i order everything from you? Food and drinks?» She then tells me «no you must order from the woman in the bar innside, but through a window going out.» pointing at a line behind a corner of the entrance, that nobody told me about or no sign led to. At this point i Get my girlfriend, and leave. Cool location,...
