Situated near USF in Tampa, Zacky Zak's delivers an authentic Middle Eastern dining experience that transcends typical fast-casual fare. This establishment has masterfully captured the essence of traditional Middle Eastern cuisine while adding subtle contemporary touches that enhance rather than diminish its authenticity. The beef shawerma stands as a testament to their culinary expertise. The meat, expertly spiced and slow-roasted until tender, exhibits the perfect balance of crispy edges and succulent interior. Each slice carries a complex flavor profile that speaks to careful marination and precise cooking techniques. Wrapped in fresh, house-made pita, it creates a harmonious blend of textures and tastes that sets a new standard for shawerma in the Tampa area. Their falafel deserves equal praise. Unlike the dense, dry versions found elsewhere, Zacky Zak's falafel achieves that elusive combination of crispy exterior and light, herbaceous interior. The chickpea base is enhanced with a thoughtful blend of herbs and spices, resulting in a falafel that could hold its own in any Middle Eastern market. The array of toppings and sauces elevates every dish to new heights. Beyond the standard hummus and tahini, Zacky Zak's offers an impressive selection of house-made condiments. Their garlic sauce delivers a perfect punch of flavor, while their spicy harissa adds depth without overwhelming. The pickled turnips and fresh vegetable options provide bright, acidic notes that cut through richer elements perfectly. The staff's genuine warmth and enthusiasm for sharing their culinary heritage transforms each visit into an engaging cultural experience. Their willingness to guide newcomers through the menu while accommodating regular patrons' preferences creates an welcoming atmosphere that encourages exploration and return visits. For USF students and Tampa residents seeking authentic Middle Eastern cuisine, Zacky Zak's offers an exceptional dining experience that combines traditional recipes with quality ingredients and genuine hospitality. It stands as a shining example of how cultural authenticity and contemporary dining can coexist harmoniously.

Wow just wow. I saw this place when I was driving in the area and I thought let me take a look at the reviews. Ok they had good reviews, so now I needed to see for myself. Well let me tell you, this food was so flavorful and amazing. I ordered the steak bowl with all of the toppings. It was incredible. The steak had so much flavor and you can taste each and every item in the bowl. Even the rice was bursting with flavor. Everything was super fresh and nothing overpowering. I could have eaten a whole other bowl myself. Next time I would love to try the saj, just because they really pack it and grill it on the flat top. There is a reason why they have good reviews. Run don't walk to Zaky Zak, you won't be sorry.

Amazing service and delicious food to say the least. I ordered a chicken bowl with all the veggie options, rice and hummus. They offer authentic, Mediterranean shawarma bowls, and pita wraps. You can choose chicken shawarma, steak, falafel, and have it in either a bowl or pita wrap. Food is halal, and they also offer delicious fries, lentil soup, baba ghanouj, and fresh bread + halal certified! Came here with my family and we tried a little bit of everything from most of the menu, and I’ll definitely recommend this to friends/family. There’s plenty of parking but it’s sometimes packed because the restaurant is in a busy shopping center. Very clean establishment with wonderful service, and fresh hot food.

Zaky Zak’s is a true hidden gem in Tampa! From the moment you walk in, you can smell the spices and see the freshness of everything laid out in front of you. The shawarma here is next level—juicy, perfectly seasoned, and wrapped in soft bread that holds together beautifully. The falafel is golden and crisp on the outside, but fluffy and flavorful inside (hard to get that balance right, but they nailed it).

What really sets this place apart is the attention to freshness and detail. The toppings bar is colorful, vibrant, and full of options—from pickled veggies to creamy sauces—all of it tastes like it was made that same morning. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and you leave full without feeling heavy.

The staff makes you feel like family—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely proud of their food. That hospitality, combined with the open-kitchen vibe, makes the whole experience even better.

I’ve had Middle Eastern food in many cities, but Zaky Zak’s easily holds its own with the best. If you’re anywhere near Tampa, don’t sleep on this place—you’ll crave it again...
