Dickey's Barbecue Pit — Restaurant in Flowood

Update To The Update I went back this weekend and found the food and service the same f&s that I fell in love with during my first visit. The food was Grade A, like the Health Department grade "A" certification on the wall. The service was Grade A as well. This young man, unlike the other one, was very helpful, offered suggestions on what to get. The young lady was the same person who was at my last visit, was just as helpful and welcoming. Oh, BTW, I left the tip! Keep it up guys! Dickey's is Great!

UPDATE! Ok, we went back a week later, Saturday, the 20th. I have to say, we enjoy the same great food! But unfortunately, the young lady who greeted us during our previous visit wasn't on duty. Instead, our greeter was his thin young man with a thinner mustache and an even thinner personality. I got the feeling he wanted to be someplace else; honestly, I wished management would have granted his wish because he was a 'killjoy" right off the bat. He responded to my questions with as few words as possible, and as I said, his body language indicated he wanted to be elsewhere or maybe had a problem with me. BUT…all was not lost, because a young lady working with him exhibited all the upbeat personality. She was welcoming and helpful, and like I said, the FOOD WAS GREAT! I am so sorry I didn't tip as much as I wanted because I feared she would have to share it with him. I didn't want that bad taste in my mouth along with that good food. Maybe she will be there today. Yes, we're thinking about going back today! Hey, why change when something is this good? Sorry i had the change my Rating a bit.

Great Food, Great Value, Great Service! My wife and I have been looking for some good BBQ for a while now. Our kids are grown, so I don't grill as much these days. We've tried several places, but we couldn't find anything we liked. Today, we took a chance on the Dickey's in Flowood. First of all, the young lady on duty, was so welcoming. Great! I told her it was my first time there and she walked me through several options. Very nice person...very nice. Now the food...how do I put this! WOW! We got some brisket, bake beans and tater salad. Man!! It was GREAT! The sauce was great, the meat was cooked to perfection, the beans taste and texture was great, and the potato salad was like home. Just as important is the value. I love the price for what we got. I guess the best compliment I can give is,...

To their credit, the brisket and the fried okra were delicious. However, the sauce and the icecream especially were watery and low quality. The potato salad was overly processed and flavorless also. These things would have been easy to overlook if not for the terrible customer service. The three ladies on staff were visibly irritable and not the least bit polite. The lady preparing our food especially seemed as if we were bothering her just by walking into the store. None of them seemed to know or care how to correctly wear a mask either. 2 stars instead of 1 purely because, like I said, the brisket was FINE. 🔥🔥🔥

Sidenote: we paid $37 for this experience. My advice, make the extra drive to little willie's down the road.

2024 Update: Been meaning to add this for a while, but never got around to it. In spite of the social team's response to this comment, I was completely shut out with no response when I tried emailing the address they left in the response comment. It seems the reply was just an attempt to publicly save face without any actual intention of making amends for the terrible service. For the record, I haven't been back to that store a single time since then and I intend to keep that streak...

We travel all over the country working and we eat at Dickey's if there is one within 15 miles of us. The food at Dickey's is great we love it. But at this one in Flowood, MS I can't tell you because we never got our food we went there 2 times and walked out before getting our food both times. The customer service in terrible. The first we ordered it and the cut our meat set it to the side while cooking our sides, but the time our side were done it the meat was cold when we ask for hot meat they gave us a hassle so we walked out. Then the second time when I told them I didn't want my meat cut until the sides were done, they side (okra and fries) take a while to cut, They started cutting (chopping) my meat up first before starting the sides I ask if that was mine, was told yes, I said I didn't ask for chopped beef, He said very rude you never said that, at this point I told him to forget it, that is was the second time I was in here and both time I had a problem with their customer service. and walked our. I will never go back into...
