It is a little "Cheers" bar with great beers! Their 16 taps are all domestic craft beer. Come to think of so are all their bottles! It is a full bar where they get creative but not over the top.

Happy hour is 4-6 Monday thru Friday. It can get packed. As it is a small place. All beers brewed within 100 mile radius are half off. The rest are $1 off. The quality of the beer is excellent as they regularly CLEAN the lines! They also clean the taps which is huge! Notice I said the beer "quality" is excellent as I don't have to "like" a particular beer.

Food is above average pub grub. They make excellent burgers: big and cooked to order. They grind their meat daily. No frozen here! The "Johnny Cash". Is their best seller. They always have a "blue plate" every week. When they have lamb sliders I am in heaven!

Dylan the owner is a quiet, big and great guy! The service is not typical. You order at the bar and they bring it to you. Don't expect typical wait service. It is posted on the walls so it is not an unknown.

If ypu love beer come on in! They KNOW beer and will recommend to you something to tickle...

The perfect place for beer and terribly delicious food.

The beer selection is very expansive, so much as to offer metrics to help you determine which ones have more malt and hops.

The location itself has a very divey pub-like feel to it, ranging from the mix of booth and stool seating to the brick alleyway restroom locations; it's got it all. The place does get fairly packed given its smaller footprint, but it adds to the vibe and doesn't get too noisy or the least bit boisterous.

The food is the main star of the show. We had the pretzels, which paired with the house-crafted cheese dip, was already enough to make me love this place. The blue cheese and bacon fries were also great, but were overshadowed by other items on the menu. We had the Johnny Cash burger with the tots, and we were sold on that duo. The tater tots were crisped perfectly, and the burger was done to medium rare perfection. The bacon was a perfect addition to the burger flavor profiles, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

The portions were completely generous, and we left satisfied and wanting to come back as soon...

A Hidden Gem in Old Town Folsom - Samuel Horne's Tavern

If you're exploring Old Town Folsom, Samuel Horne’s Tavern is a must-visit. Located just 3-4 blocks from our Airbnb, Folsom Escape, this cozy tavern offers a warm atmosphere, friendly service, and an impressive selection of craft beers.

I recently enjoyed their SteakHouse Dip, and it was outstanding — tender steak, perfectly seasoned, served with a rich au jus that took it to the next level. If you're a fan of hearty, flavorful dishes, this is a must-try!

The rustic interior adds to the charm, with a welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home. I’ve included a couple of photos to give you a glimpse inside — it’s exactly the kind of place where you want to relax, enjoy good food, and connect with friends or locals.

Pub food expected. Amazing burger fries and beer delivered. I’d go back in a heartbeat. The service was so great!! Help ordering, great recommendations, … the bacon was crisp, cheese was thick sliced, recommended medium- temp perfect. The fries were so good. Salted, peppered, and I had the bacon blue cheese. Hit me again!! Side full order of green chili fries. Dang!!! Spicy. Crisp fresh potatoes. … and sliders at the table. Standard fries hit the mark as well. The four stars in atmosphere were just the pub smell… partially expected, somewhat overwhelming when food was my first intent for walking in. Forgiven- but could earn that fifth star pretty easily. We ate streetside tables because we had the pup with us. They even brought out a pup water bowl. I’d give a sixth star on service if I could.

My husband and I tried Samuel Horne's today for lunch. Great little tap house with a wide selection of beer and decent menu. Loved that the bartender gives you samples of the different brews to help in making a selection. The food was great! My husband got the Johnny Cash burger (delicious!!) and I got the Steakhouse Dip sandwich (equally delicious!!). The bartender accidentally put my order in as the Steak & Peppers sandwich, so I was able to take a bite of that one as well; don't get that unless you REALLY like spicy food. When the bartender realized her error, she put in the correct order and the kitchen took care of it very quickly. We would definitely return and recommend Sam's to others. A few things to note: seating is limited and you head to the bar to place your orders.
