Captain D's — Restaurant in Forest Hill

I'm not sure how to give this particular place an overall score. For starters let me point out that the spicy fish had indeed took me by surprise and I found it to be very good. my son took a great liking to it. (My son for the record is a picky eater who is only12 years old but he does love spicy snacks and spicy meat) but I guess it was more or less the service that I experienced that was more on the unpleasant side. it had been my first time here, so i wasn't really offered anything as a recommendation nor can i say anyone had been a huge help or atleast offered anything maybe say somthing a first timer would have been pleased with or even given the options on what side dish would be best suited for a certain meal or most ordered with it. They really just wanted me to hurry through my order so feeling rushed and to get me out of the way, I ordered the first thing I saw not really sure what I asked for by the time I reached the window. and as fast as I had gotten to the window and payed I assumed that i would be in and out of the place rather quickly. but NOPE! to surprise i was asked to park on the side AND wait a long unpleasant amount, long enough for me to have regretted the drive into this place not only could I not recall what was in the combo other than a number number 2. on top of the unknown i even had to ask for and pay extra for the drink because according to the attendant at the drive thru : combos do NOT INCLUDE DRINKS. ...(okay so than why is it called a Combo?) .my order finally came out after nearly 25 min almost half an hour. I guess I blame myself for sorta just randomly picking a number and went with that platter instead of taking my time smh. anywho!! in conclusion not very much help with the service. unsure about the food other than the spicy fish that i was told had been good, but personally i wont be...

The 3 piece fish meal was very good both times I went. Service was bad. BAD! Very bad! When I walked into the place, the kid was punching things into the computer. He looked at me and looked back down and said nothing.

The first time,, I stood there for a good 5 minutes. He finished and turned his back and walked over to the window to the kitchen and talked to staff. He came back and totally acted I was not there as he took his time shuffling things around. Eventually said "ok" indicating that he was ready to take my order. When handing my order to me, no thanks for your business etc etc.

The second time I went and rhe only reason I did was bc the fish was done perfectly and was very good the first time! Similar experience. As I am sitting there waiting on my order, I thought maybe since I am a white man I was just getting the cold shoulder.

About that time a black gentleman came in. He waited and waited. He started saying to us who were waiting that it was crazy how long he stood there while being ignored. About that time, my order was ready and as I was getting in my car, it appeared he must have followed me out and left without ordering.

My husband and I went there today for the all you can eat buffet and we had to ask them for a set up. The young lady 1st came out and asked who had a set up and I raised my hand since I was right on front on her. She just walked right past us and went to some cyacustom that were sitting in n the back and gabg to them all the fish. She walked right past is again and never said ilI'bring you guys some or anything. So I'm thinking she's coming back back and 10 minutes later she still never returned. I then went to the register and asked for a set up. 5 minutes later the same girl came out and walked right past up and went back to those same customers and gave them all the fish again and never said 1 word to us. That's when I went and asked to speak to a manager and they said he just left .I told them what happened and they said the people that got the food ordered before us (which they didn't) I said yuy know what never mind..and told my husband let's go! The lady came back 2 minutes later and tried to serve us..I said nevermind and we left!! I've never been to a Captain D's where we had to ask for some more food before in my life?! I'm never going back to that one...
