This cute little restaurant is perfectly located in the center of Ft Bragg, has a big outdoor tent, masked servers, distanced tables, and text confirmations so you can walk around while you wait for your table. So why 2 stars, the food. The fish was served barely warm. Like it sat outside the heat lamps for 10 mins before serving, maybe the chefs timed the burgers wrong and had to leave the fish out for a long time. It was also weirdly cooked, with uncooked batter inside by the fish, and the batter all fell off, leaving pudding-covered fish. Inedible but we took it home uneaten and didnât make a fuss because the waiter was super busy, and I would have had to hunt someone down. The chicken sandwich was just Ok. Kids loved the fries.
It was a nice place to sit down and chill, but you should stick to the nachos or something cheap and just get cookies from down the road because the food is quite bad, especially for $16-20 per meal, and this is a restaurant after all. Maybe we just had bad luck, at the tail end of a lunch shift, with a frazzled chef. Wont return.
As response to the messages on the reviews, I did call the management and they were enthusiastic to discuss the feedback with the staff.
In looking at the photos from other guests and wondering how we had such a different experience, Iâm seeing that we werenât delivered the side of fish we ordered either. Iâm grateful to you guys for being open and connecting to guests by email, my feedback by phone was that if any staff, manager, or host, had walked around and seen a table with 4/5 uneaten burgers and a plate of uneaten fish with a lot of batter in a pile on the side and asked how things were, there would have been an opportunity to give feedback on the spot, not just wait for a chance to get...
Read moreThis place is great! I got married outside of Fort Bragg recently and had the 30 people we invited come out to this place the night before to all meet up for a drink. We called a couple weeks ahead to warn the restaurant that we would be coming with a large group and the woman who answered the phone was very sassy with us and told us "we'll, it says on our website that it's first come first serve" we said ok and planned to just stand around in the bar if there were not tables available for all our guests. The night of the event comes and we tell everyone to meet there around 6 and we start to filter in. It was clear that the person who took our original call did not warn their staff that we were coming. Very quickly we overwhelmed the bar but without any fuss the manager brought our party back in to their back music venue room and got us situated. Their very nice server asked us for beer and drink orders and we ask for a handful of pitchers to start us off and some apps to help people get comfortable. The sound system wasn't on back there but the awesome manager hooked us up with a little bluetooth speaker that did the trick. We eventually all order meals and the kitchen kicked them all out in great time. As a former line cook I was really impressed! We were there till around closing and as we were leaving everyone was feeling good and very happy with their meals and drinks! Couldn't recommend this place more, great beer, great food, and great service. Although I'd suggest that if you work at a restaurant and someone tells you they a bringing 30 people maybe write it down and warn the staff. They did well, but we could tell we threw a wrench in their night. Couldn't have handled it...
Read moreI have been here twice and have failed to be impressed. I recommend the new brewery several blocks away, Overtime Brewing, for much better service and similar prices and beers.
The brewery is way overpriced--pints are $6.50 and of course less than 16 ounces in the glass. The food is tasty but very expensive for what you get. We got a 12 inch pizza with several toppings that was $20. The nachos are probably my favorite things there. They have a happy hour on weekdays from 4-6pm, but it is only in the "bar" not in the dining room. The happy hour is $1 off the lower ABV "pints," and there is no food on the happy hour menu.
We had an unpleasant experience this last visit with discovering that the happy hour only applied to the "bar" room. We sat in the dining room, asked about the happy hour (no signage or mention on menu), was told by the server that it was $1 off some drafts. We proceeded to order beers for "happy hour" and he never told us that it would only apply if we got up from our table and moved 10 feet to the table in the "bar" room. The manager didn't rectify the situation and overall the service was lack luster. We were asked for our order, and never told about any of the rotating taps or food specials. When I asked about one of the rotating beers, the server clearly did not know much about beer in general. The menu could really use some clarification on which beers come in which glasses, at which prices. For example, several of their higher ABV beers only come in 10 ounce pours and are $10, but that is very ambiguous...
