I came in to the Council Tree Ave Mary's Mountain Cookies on Sept. 2, 2013 around 3:30 pm and experienced the worst customer service I ever have. The middle-aged woman that was working had a horrible attitude and was obviously flustered from the beginning. I had a punch card for buy 6 cookies get 1 free, I handed it to the woman when I was checking out and she crankily replied, "I really wish you would've given this to me before I rang it up." Obviously, it shouldn't have mattered either way. She was then so upset that she threw the cookies at me across the counter and said, "Here, just take them then!" I had then explained (as I was buying 2 cookies) that I was only supposed to receive 1 free cookie and still had to pay for the other. She then had everything under control at the register and was now trying to make up for her poor attitude/customer service that she displayed just prior to this. She didn't know how to get the receipt for me (but eventually figured it out) and told me to have a good day - I was so upset at how I was treated that I took the cookies and just left. As I was exiting the door - I heard her yell, "Fine - or NOT!" while there were new customers in the store waiting to be helped. I will never return to this Mary's Mountain Cookies location again - they lost a customer, I will drive the extra distance to the Old Town location, where the customer service is miles...
Read moreHands down, the BEST cookies you'll ever eat! The cookies are so soft, and they have most creative flavor combinations! Major props to Mary and her quick genius - that almond glaze... to die for! Not to mention, they're huge! How they keep that monster of a cookie so soft and chewy, is a marvelous mystery. I always tell myself I'll save some for later, but let's be real... I eat the whole thing, in one sitting, every dang time. I've been around this store more times than I'd like to admit, and you really can't go wrong with any cookie. The S'mores one though, tops them all! Oh, and the peanut butter one! In the summer, snag yourself an ice cream sandwich made with peanut butter cookies, and you'll be in heaven!
The store itself is super cute, and there's space to sit down and enjoy your quick treat. They even have some coffee or hot chocolate - major win, in my book! Sometimes you'll come in at just the right moment, and see the staff working away on cookies right behind the bar! I love that they do that right up front; it's always refreshing to be able to see what you're getting - real, hand made cookies! The staff are always friendly, and they'll give you their opinions on their favorites...which, with the abundance of options, can be super helpful!
Over and over again, one of my favorite stops in...
Read moreI’ve had Mary’s cookies many times before just not at this location. A friend picked up cookies for us, one vegan and what she chose. When she brought back my $4.00 cookie for me to enjoy. I quickly Realized after my first bite that it was frozen. I should’ve called back ASAP but chose to microwave for a couple seconds. Didn’t help at all. Flavorless and tasted like it had been in freezer to long. When I called back I was given pushback right away. I went back to the store to get a new cookie, I chose one a dollar less and when I asked the clerk about the difference she said, “it’s just a dollar, you can keep the vegan cookie” End result was a new cookie and my bland, frozen vegan cookie. I was disappointed in the pushback and lack of customer service. Will not go back to...
