Ann’s here in Fort Loodydoot has a breakfast burrito on the menu, and the first thing you think when looking at it is hey, that’s a pretty smol breakfast package, maybe I should order two. At 6 dollars and some change it’s a bit underwhelming but good things have come in small packages before (see: brothers burritos, redondo beach ca) - the burrito is a 5.5/10, the saving grace here is get some other foods that are closer to 8/10 breakfasts. It comes with a small cup of red salsa that tastes Tostitos-ish. There’s a healthy amount of what tastes like parmesan cheese inside, which speaks to my soul personally, and the tortilla is very nice. However it just lacks a punch that I hope for when I bite into it, maybe something a little more complicated would be better. If you subscribe to the less is more mentality in life, choosing things like chicken tenders and PB&Js in lieu of more exotic meals regularly - it may be a 8/10 burrito for you. However burrito hall of fame vignettes - such as (Sunflower Cafe, Sonoma ca) pull me back into memories of burrito nirvana and leave me wanting more. The coffee, atmosphere, and staff are awesome. Definitely give this...
Read moreI was just in this place at about 10:45 pm. The girl at the front was super nice but the cashier behind the counter seemed to have woken up on the wrong side of the bed or something. She seemed to have an annoyed expression while I was ordering and paying. I ordered two things to go and asked for a bag and was told they have no bags. I had to carry a box and a pouch with a pastries the entire way of Las Olas. What if someone would have wanted to order more to go? Additionally, the cashier disappeared before I finished with the payment keypad. I have never seen that happen before at a cafe or restaurant, or anywhere for that matter. That’s just unprofessional. I was curious about this place but it seems iffy. Do they have a motto ‘Don't order more To-Go than you can carry in your hand?’ They had live music playing and that was nice, but the cashier doesn’t need to bring her ‘teenage angst’ attitude to work. Two pastries are ~$11 and they can’t even provide a bag that would’ve cost them a few cents? Next time I want a to-go snack while at Las Olas I won’t be going there. If I had known ahead of time I would be holding two containers while walking the rest of the way along Las Olas I probably wouldn’t have gotten...
