Starbucks — Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale

Our family is on vacation, staying at the Westin and have visited the Starbucks connected to the hotel each day. We have ordered hot breakfast sandwiches and drinks each morning. So far, so good - until today. We ordered our usual sandwiches and drinks (passion tea lemonades). We got our sandwiches and while waiting for the drinks were told they didn't have lemonade. The lady making drinks asked if we wanted it without lemonade, which we declined. We were about to ask for a refund but the line was lengthy so we tried to be polite, however the lady became snippy with us. We asked for iced carmel macchiatos instead. At that point she began talking about us to another employee. Then, I politely asked for non-fat milk (I'm lactose intolerant) - same lady laughed and rolled her eyes. She then delivered the drinks and didn't hand us straws, so another customer grabbed some for us - she then snipped at him for reaching over her counter and told us the straws for customers (as she pointed) were across the room.

I'm sorry if she doesn't enjoy her job, but the customer is not where you express that dissatisfaction. We are going to take our business elsewhere & hopefully find more friendly employees. Don't work at the beach location if you aren't prepared to be nice to those...

Oceanfront faces the Atlantic ocean on A1A. You can sit inside or inside, and watch the waves, people or sunrise. Staff service is a 5*, from my 4 days in a row visits so far. Courteous, efficient and they get the job done consistently. Friendly. I had a breakfast sandwich, super hot from the microeave, had to wait for it to cool down. Microwave is not your friend fire bacon! The Cafe is clean. The music is too loud and a bit overpowering, I dont like it. Some of the Starbucks Cafes like this one, turn the volume too high. Also I cannot access wifi here, it requires a Westin hotel login, why I am giving a 4. In addition to music loudness. This cafe is part of the Westin property. Though you can enter it from outside the resort, and its s large cafe sitting mostly on its own. They allow dogs inside, if you regard this as a pro or con. This one is barking aggressively st another customer who entered. I don't know what this woman here is doing...

I was looking forward to a nice breakfast sandwich and a latte, but it seems that my expectations for a Saturday morning were too high. It seemed that the staff was friendly and attentive, but one of the girl baristas did not like the fact that I asked for 2 cups of water. I just spend a good amount and did not expect the attitude. The shop was not busy but clearly I interrupted her cell phone scrolling. Another girl that took forever to order one drink, interrupted her and she did not mind her asking to have a new drink made since she did not like what she had ordered.

As for the food, the latte lacked flavor and the breakfast sandwiches were not warmed up properly. The highlight was the lemon pound cake!

Not sure why there was a mix of bad abd good customer service, but that needs improvement and the preparation of food and drinks.
