My recent visit to Hokkaido Japanese Restaurant in Fort Worth was an absolute delight, marked by exceptional food, warm hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by the charming hostess, Mirena, whose genuine warmth set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. Our server, Jack, was equally outstanding, providing attentive and friendly service that made us feel right at home. Their efforts truly elevated our meal, turning it into a memorable occasion. The menu at Hokkaido offers a wide array of Japanese dishes, but we were particularly drawn to a few standout items: the Big Mouth Roll, the bento boxes, and the lemon pepper white tuna appetizer. Let me dive into why these dishes left such a lasting impression. The Big Mouth Roll was a showstopper. This vibrant sushi roll lived up to its name with bold flavors and a generous portion. Packed with a combination of fresh fish, avocado, and a touch of spicy mayo, it delivered a perfect balance of creamy, spicy, and savory notes. The presentation was stunning, with colorful garnishes that made it as visually appealing as it was delicious. Each bite was a burst of flavor, making this roll a must-try for sushi lovers. The bento boxes were another highlight, offering a delightful variety that showcased Hokkaido’s culinary range. We opted for a bento that included calamari karaage, tempura veggies & shrimp, all served with miso soup, salad, and steamed rice. The calamari was delicious and perfectly cooked, the tempura was crispy, light, and tasty. The portions are generous yet well-balanced, making it an ideal choice for those who want to sample a bit of everything. The bento box presentation was also impeccable, with each component neatly arranged, adding to the overall enjoyment. The lemon pepper white tuna appetizer was a refreshing surprise. Thinly sliced white tuna was lightly seared and seasoned with a zesty lemon pepper blend, topped with scallions and a drizzle of citrusy sauce. The dish was bright, tangy, and perfectly seasoned, offering a clean and invigorating start to the meal. It’s a fantastic option for those seeking something light yet packed with flavor. The ambiance at Hokkaido complemented the food perfectly. The decor was modern yet cozy, creating a relaxed setting that suited both casual dinners and special occasions. The attention to detail from the staff, especially Jack and Mirena, made us feel valued and cared for throughout our visit. Jack’s recommendations were spot-on, and Mirena’s cheerful demeanor added a personal touch that’s rare to find. Overall, Hokkaido Japanese Restaurant in Fort Worth is a gem that delivers on both food and hospitality. We will eagerly return to and highly recommend Hokkaido to anyone craving authentic Japanese cuisine in Fort...

Read moreWe discovered Hokkaido Ramen & Sushi through a quick search on Google Maps, and we’re so glad we did! The food was excellent, especially for the price point, and the service was friendly and attentive.
I ordered a Bento Box, which included miso soup, a side salad, and rice. The bento starts at $16.95, which is a great value considering the portions and quality. For my two selections, I chose the Vegetable Tempura and the Chicken Katsu. The tempura was perfectly crispy and light, while the Chicken Katsu—made with chicken thighs instead of the usual breast—was juicy and flavorful with a delightfully crisp coating. I ended up taking the rest to go.
We also tried the Yellowtail Roll, which featured fresh fish and a well-balanced fish-to-rice ratio.
My husband ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen, which included pork belly, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, scallions, and a soft-boiled egg in a spicy white shoyu broth. He’s usually picky about ramen, but this one impressed him. I tasted the broth and agree—it was delicious.
Lastly, he got the Lover Tuna Roll, which includes spicy tuna topped with fresh tuna, white tuna, avocado, spicy mayo, and wasabi mayo. According to my him, it was his ideal sushi roll—fresh, flavorful, and not fried.
We will definitely be returning next time we’re...
