Read moreSTRIKE 1 - Let me first start by reducing this one star to ZERO stars as Google review doesn't give you the option for that. We walked in to have dinner (the was no one else in line and the place was not busy) approached the food counter and was not greeted by the staff. They just look at you with that look like they are put out to have to wait on you as if they didn't want to be there.
STRIKE 2 - My husband ordered first which was a meat sandwich. He diligently watched as the guy cut and weighed the meat to a 1/4 lb. The staff guy overshot the amount of meat he put on the scale so he removed the extra and threw the rest in the trash. Now as the exact 1/4 lb that was suppose to go on the sandwich was picked up from the scale to put on the sandwich, a piece of the meat was dropped, placed in the trash without replacing with another piece so we received less than 1/4 of meat for the sandwich. My husband proceeded on down the serving line to the register (overlooking what the guy did even though we have witnessed this many times before ) as I was about to order.
STRIKE 3 - I ordered a 1/4 chicken (bone in) plate which was $9. Would you believe the staff (the guy carving the meat) finally SPOKE. He told me they were OUT of chicken but they had boneless (which was $11). I told him I did not want boneless unless they were going to offer it to me for the same price. Literally, the guy looked at me with this blank face and was speechless didn't utter a word. After I repeated myself again about offering it to me for the same price I still got no response. Finally, my husband came back down the line to ask me what the problem was and I explained to him what the deal was. My husband told the guy that I only eat chicken and not any other type of meat and that it was there problem they were out of bone in chicken not ours and that if they didn't give me the boneless for the same price that it was a deal breaker. Again, the guy didn't utter a word but instead gave a nod of the head indicating NO. My husband said that's it walked back down to the register to pick up his tray of food, walked back down and put it on the counter and said here ya go you can throw this food out along with the rest you already threw it. WE LEFT!
Well, three strikes (all in one night)….....
Read more2nd visit 5/27/2024: So this is my first time coming for the actual bbq. It was like a 5 out of 10. I got the Old School Tray. With collard greens and mac n cheese as my 2 sides. The collard greens was decent except for the woody bits that they should take care in preparation. The mac n cheese though? Horrid. I am attaching a video of it. Its soupy as heck. I regret spending the $40 on this tray. Sausage bites were ok. Brisket tasted medicinal. Pulled pork was forgettable. I am saddened as this changes my original review. It is sad because this was such a lackluster visit compared to my first time. I did not finish my meal so Im still hungry which is the biggest insult as a patron. Ive been known to shovel through mediocre food but this was unforgiveable.
1st visit: First of all - there needs to be more people here for happy hour because yall are CRAZY to pass up these deals. The burger was well seasoned, fries were not my fave and the brisket nachos was really good. The drinks are boozed well for a happy hour deal. The margaritas are large.
My bartender, Olga, is super nice, quick and great conversationalist. She makes you want to stick around with her positive vibes, awesome smile and clear love for hospitality. I cannot say it enough - come here! Also, make sure to tip well because on a Wednesday night during Happy Hour she was the only one in the bar darting around while the kitchen kept cranking meals out to her with a Tom Segura lookalike (a compliment, I promise) bringing them out to her. Its a really nice, cohesive environment with great music (I am not a fan of...
