Do not recommend. My wife and I spent our anniversary dinner here. We rarely get to go out without our toddler, so thought we'd go to a nice place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Boy did I make mistake in booking this restaurant.
I booked the reservation online 10 days in advance. The website made it seem like the live band could be heard from the entire restaurant. Nope. Only in the little jazz lounge. I guess we weren't "in the know" so got screwed there.
When we were shown to our table I thought perhaps I had blacked out and woke up inside a La Quinta Inn's continental breakfast room. It was a small back room that had those granite countertops with cabinets underneath on two sides of the room, a giant TV right above my wife's head with exposed wires, and hideous light fixtures and wall art. The waitstaff occasionally stacked plates and silverware on the countertops, not 2 feet away. The piped in elevator music was also terrible, especially after thinking we would get to hear a live jazz band. I cannot stress enough how much it looked like we were dining in a cheap hotel. A couple that was sat a while after us asked to move, and we later learned they waited about an hour to get a seat in the "main" dining room. The group that sat after them were also making jokes about how bad the room looked. Go ahead, look at the selfie we took. If you saw that photo with no context, how much would you think the meal cost? Three hundred plus dollars, or self serve waffle machine and box of Froot Loops?
My wife ate only 2 of the 6 scallops her main dish came with. My 60 something dollar filet was okay. Honestly we could have cooked a better main meal at home. For much cheaper.
Not all was bleak however. The service was excellent. The truffle mac and cheese was delicious. The calamari appetizer was definitely the best dish of the night. The drinks were fun and fantastic. We got festive anniversary confetti on the table and a micro champagne toast, as well as a written card. And a mini bananas foster which was pretty good.
We had a better time and meal at the local LongHorn Steakhouse, which is owned by the same company (but considered "casual dining"). And it was a third of the price. And looked better.
All in all, we will never return, and will actively tell our friends, acquaintances, and even strangers to not go here. Part of spending $300+ for a dinner is the ambience. And this place had negative ambience. It ruined what should have been a great night, and we deeply regret spending our anniversary dinner here. The owners and operators of Eddie V's should be ashamed of the experience that they...
Read moreLast year (1/14/24) my wife and I went here. It was perfect. This year (1/18/25) we went again. It was busy due to rodeo in town. The staff (cooks/servers) were in over their heads. The poor souls were fighting for dear life. Our server was as good as he could be but got our orders a smidgeon incorrect. I ordered two bland olive oil cooked fish fillets and bland baked potato. I didnât get the potato. The first fish fillet came out and I was informed about the potato after waiting about 3 minutes for waiter to come back. I ordered another fillet. The first fillet tasted fine (i was hungry due to bike workout before going. I wouldâve eaten trash at this point). The second fillet came out and I noticed it was slightly cooked more than the first. I have crohns and food allergies (I will fight the VA until I die on this one. These issues are due to military service). Im definitely not easy to deal with food wise and I only attempt to eat out on anniversary dinners. no exaggeration. The only restaurant Ive eaten at since 2019 is eddie vâs and I believe once outback take-out with my insane allergy requests (lol). Also Im what you might call middle class fancy and dont like spending money at restaurants (not even Applebees/chilis). When my wifeâs steak came out it was sincerely below room temperature. Our waiter immediately got a new steak (kudos). My wife enjoyed her food which made the experience worth it because I love her more than life itself. Get ready for this part the weak at heart ought not to gaze upon what is written. 1/19/25 at about 10 at night I uuummmm did the green apple two step for a few hours. 1/20/25 My stomach feels a bit special. Maybe it was the fish or maybe it was the eggs I ate for breakfast (the world may never know). Buuuuut we unfortunately will not be going back to eddie Vâs next year. Im sure theyll still get plenty of business from the high rollers and my poor petty peasant pleb opinion doesnât matter but I sincerely hope they chill out on max occupancy for the sake of their patrons and staff. Ive got 9,000,000,000,000 kids and need to save money for them anyway. Again our waiter was as good as anyone could possibly be in that mad house. Ive been a doorman/bouncer and waiter before. I know whats up and that job isnât easy. Also parking was fine and our waiter gave our ticket to valet before we went out bc it was EXTREMELY cold. Take care eddie Vs and I wish the best for yall! Blessings...
Read moreCame here for dinner for a special occasion. Keep in mind that there's very limited parking outside in front of the restaurant (2 hours for free), but I think there's a nearby garage you can park at too. We ended up valeting the car because we couldn't find a spot in the front and we were running behind, it was a $7 fee. In regards to the restaurant, the service could've been better from our server than what it was, but it was a running joke at my table that our server was just bummed he couldn't be cut for the night đ€Ł It wasn't bad service, but the server at the table next to us left a little to be desired. If I could give the restaurant a half star I would, because it would be a 4.5 on account of the food but I'm not sure I could commit to a 5. We started out with a few cocktails - a 24-Karat Martini and a Smoked Old Fashioned. That was actually the best old fashioned I've ever had. We then started with the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake and it tasted great with the spicy remoulade. We then shared the Warm Goat Cheese Salad and it was delicious! I was kind of skeptical when the menu said the salad was warmed but it was sooo good, I loved the mushrooms! For mains we had the 8oz Center Cut Filet, the Chilean Sea Bass, and sides of Truffled Macaroni and Cheese and Crispy Brussel Sprouts. When my Sea Bass came out, I was half expecting it to be crusted because everyone makes it crusted and the fact that it wasn't let me know how good it was going to be - and it was amazing! That was some amazing Sea Bass with soy sauce broth, best Sea Bass ever! The steak was also good and tender as well, very mouth watering. The Crispy Brussel Sprouts were the star of the sides, but the Truffled Mac was well made too. The Brussel Sprouts were just so ha-wow-ey, crispy and super flavorful with the Korean glaze. After dinner we had Espresso Martinis before going on to dessert, and they were a bit of a let down. I've had worse espresso martinis but I've definitely had better. All of our food and drinks were great, but those martinis were meh. For dessert we had the Bananas Foster Butter Cake and the Classic CrĂšme BrĂ»lĂ©e. Both desserts were really good. I really enjoyed my Butter Cake - so warm and gooey with the added bonus of a show! There were only two let downs, the service and the espresso martinis. Both weren't terrible but they could've been better. All in all, I had a good time at Eddie V's and had a very delicious meal, would love...
