This place is relatively new and a very high tech approach to sushi. From start to finish it’s a celebration of automation.
The decor is airy, clean and everything is in motion around you. The high ceilings, clean booth design, and crisp, understated art keep it very comfortable. The kitchen is open to the table area and you can watch all the activity as everything swirls around and items are plated and head out to travel throughout the entire restaurant.
To start, you are greeted by a host and seated, but after that it’s completely self-driven. The menu and ordering system is on a tablet placed awkwardly high and difficult to reach. We ordered two waters and a little robot playing music showed up and delivered them along with chopsticks and wasabi. The revolving dishes do pass directly by you and you can just open the little domed container and grab the plate. Most dishes are available there but you can order anything on the menu and it shoots down a long, straight conveyer right to the table. The speed of service was quite impressive: a matter minutes to seconds.
We apparently tried 11 items, which I didn’t believe at first, but, yup, you can rack them up quite easily. Honestly, every single item was fresh, nicely plated, and very tasty. The rice was not quite as sticky as would have been expected. I have been to two other places like this that apparently spent more time and money concentrating on the gizmos rather than food quality. This place kicked the crap out of them.
All plates are priced equally, so your bill is the number of plates multiplied by $3.50. The end of the table has a slot to slip your plates into and they are counted automatically. You can’t check out until you return all plates, BTW.
I wouldn’t typically give a 5 without personal interaction and sitting at the actual chef’s, bar however this was fun and they deserve it.
I normally credit the name of my server, yet this is quite interesting as I had to take a video of it :)
I would recommend a trip here and it really won’t...
Read moreAfter a long day of having to endure shopping with the Wife at TJ Maxx and HomeGoods, the wife was excited to reward me with a trip to this new sushi place in North Fort Worth. We are avid sushi lovers and we’re excited about the concept, but it didn’t take long for our disappointment to be evident. The waitress that seated us was nice and initially the ambience was entertaining. The robot that brought us our drinks was cool, and the concept of disposing of the plates was interesting. After that, it was about 45 minutes of staring to the abyss of sushi disappointment for one the quality of the few options that we actually had to pick from was not very good. The sushi didn’t seem fresh and the rice had kind of a weird consistency. The items that we ordered outside, revolving tray were small portion and not very good quality. This included both the vegetable and shrimp tempura. I happen to eat one vegetable that look like a honeycomb so I’m not sure exactly what that was but I was starving so I just went with it. 90% of the containers were empty and I have no idea what the chefs were doing behind the counter. They had people back there, but it didn’t seem that they were in any kind of a hurry to add any new items. It was also interesting that there were a few others in the place, but it wasn’t super packed so I’m assuming we all looked at the same on identified Spanish mackerel as it rolled past us about 60 times before we left. I’ve noticed on previous comments that there was an appreciation for the feedback and that these things would be addressed, but considering my post is about a week away from the last disappointment, I can’t imagine anything has been done and hoping these responses are not something from a bot or chat, GPT. I don’t think that I’ll be returning here since there are more sushi options that have never disappointed, but I do hope for someone who’s never been to this place before they get a better first time...
Read moreI was really excited when this location opened up near Presidio, and the first visit was great, service was great and I’ve always loved the conveyer belt style because environment is fun, and you’re not limited to just one choice - as long as the food’s good and fresh!
We’ve been here probably 5 other times since their opening and I can tell they are struggling to keep up with how busy/popular it’s getting. This last visit on Saturday evening 3/29 - my boyfriend noticed one of the chefs using the dirty rag he was wiping the counters with to wipe the sushi plate that had the newly rolled sushi on it. 🤮
It was pretty warm in there and looks like they were struggling with being short staffed. Server told me she would come back with extra wasabi for me and she never returned. I had to request for a staff member and even then, waited another 10 minutes before someone came to our table.
The way the sushi on the belt was rolled was very sloppy. I consider myself an expert chopstick user but I couldn’t pick up the nigiri or rolls without the rice falling apart or some other pieces falling out.
I would love to see more fresh and unique options with the nigiri/sashimi, rolls and just better cleanliness standards overall with the chefs...
