Mama's pizza — Restaurant in Fort Worth

I just wanna say thank you !!! We stopped in here this evening at 8:32pm mind you they close at 9pm ...I sent my husband and brother in because I was tired and just wanted some pizza after the stressful day we had I just wanted a cheesy good pizza !! So he walked in surprised with a warm welcome they asked if it would be ok to make a order and the gentleman behind the counter was kind and allowed us to decide what we wanted .... without attitude or sass he took our order he seemed like a manager or the owner... besides the point ....we waited and got our pizza had to drive all the way to springtown and then got to enjoy it our pizza!!! Let me just say I am such a picky person I literally don't like anything and this pizza was AMAZING!!!!! I have never had this pizza before but now I'll never eat another!!! I am so glad they were still open after the day I had I was not disappointed!!!!!! My husband won't shut up about how good it was 😂 I will definitely be going back!! I should preface this review with saying that we've been to Mama's pizza in Mansfield dozens of times and always had an amazing experience. Anytime I've ever been to the one in Mansfield, they've always had an older adult present that was managing the restaurant. I've been to this new Lake Worth location 3x and it was always a little lackluster. However, tonight's experience was awful. I placed an online order and showed up to pick it up and was told by a very young employee it needed another 3 mins. After waiting 15-20 mins, another young lady saw me constantly looking at the counter and finally asked what I was waiting on. My pizza had been ready for nearly 15 min and was just sitting in the back. I asked her if they'd forgotten about me and she looked embarrassed and said that they had. What's worse is that I paid for ranch dressing and never received it. The entire time I was waiting on my pizza, the young girl that checked me out when I came in was counting the money in the tip jar and eating cookies. After getting our pizzas home, my 7 yr old son had a mini cheese pizza of his own that he abruptly stopped eating because he found a hard, rubbery piece of something under the cheese. Decided to try out Mama’s Pizza mostly because we were intrigued by the lunch buffet. The restaurant is very open which is nice, didn’t feel closed in. Felt very cafeteria like. Didn’t have any charm though. The buffet is enclosed behind a wall partition that you can’t see from the lobby, which is not needed. We had wings, a salad buffet, and a regular buffet. Wings took about 20 minutes and came wrapped in foil just like how you’d get at a Dominos. Matter of fact they might as well have came from Dominos! (Domino wings are terrible btw) They were baked, not fried, so they were soggy. Total crime to bake chicken wings. The salad bar was ok. I liked that they had a great selection of toppings. Some of the greens were turning orange though which was a little off putting. The pizza buffet was not good. For one, at opening they didn’t even have a regular pepperoni pizza. What pizza joint doesn’t offer a basic pepperoni pizza?! Pizzas aren’t sitting under heat lamps but have warmers under the pans so the tops of the pizzas were not warm. One pizza was soggy and tasted like dish soap, my guess is the pan was wet from washing and not rinsed well. We’re pretty disappointed and won’t be back.
