I was disappointed and would not recommend.
We went for the restaurant week menu. Some items were good but nothing was worth the price. Details below.
Right off the bat when our server came to our table we were hit with news that if one person was eating off the restaurant week menu the whole table had to participate. Not a huge deal as we planned on it but this is not the norm at other places. Then the kicker was there is an automatic 22% gratuity added for opting to eat off the restaurant week menu. The service was not 22% service and it was like being punished for participating in the charity event. We did not like the atmosphere. Felt like we were in a club and not a nice restaurant. It was very loud and the tables were so close you could hardly get around without kicking a chair or being kicked by staff as they are walking by. The table was very cluttered and not even room to set your menu down on the table. The clutter was from bowls that were not needed unless appetizers are being ordered. As for the food, I ordered the fried Calamari to start. In my opinion it was way over cooked and very salty. This calamari was no better than a regular restaurant that serves frozen calamari. Our table ordered three apps to share. The stuffed shishito peppers, sweet potato (technically a side) and some dumplings. All three were very good. The stuffed shishitos being my favorite. For my main course I ordered the mustard salmon. It was tasty but very small. If we had not had appetizers I would of been starving. For the desert we were served a tempura fried ice cream. It was very good. For two people we paid $205.00. At most high end restaurants this price would not bother me. However this place did not meet “high end” expectations. Mediocre food with high end prices at best. The topper was the blonde/red hair manager. At least I assume that’s who she was. She asked how it was and we told her our biggest complaint was the auto tipping and the fact the tip was based on the total after tax. You don’t include the tax amount in the tip. I don’t remember seeing Uncle Sam serve me. After we told her she was kinda snotty about it and gave some excuses about it being their first time to participate in DFW restaurant week. She then said “we were lucky to get a table on a Saturday night”. Hate to break it to her but when we made the reservation it was wide open.🤷🏼♂️ You can look at my profile, I’ve reviewed places all over the U.S. and have over 25 million views. This restaurant is not even...
Read moreI highly recommend NOT to go to the this restaurant. The food was good which helped for the small time we had to enjoy it. The sushi was a bit pricy so we expected better service overall. We had booked reservations at 6:30m, Friday, Nov 3,2023. We celebrated my birthday with friends. After being there 1 hr 20 mins we were about to order more food and drinks but instead were asked if they could offer us a free round of drinks and enjoy them at the bar upstairs. They said they had their next party as the tables were only for 2 hrs. They would have liked us to be finished up in 10-20 minutes to get the table ready for the next party. So we stopped to clarify the message with the manager. Even though several other tables had been there longer than us we were being asked to leave. For 4 people we had a $300 bill and didn't want to spend another penny. They took all our plates and utensils so no deserts or anything were an option. We didn't get a chance to eat for very long since our waitress took a while to get our order. Considering how they made us feel the manager didn't blink an eye about her decision to ask us to wrap up and drink upstairs. We didn't want to spend any more time there so just asked for 4 drinks to be comped so we could get out of there. We had never had an experience like that before and won't ever spend money there again. We don't have a problem with a 2 hour window but when you are the only table being asked and other tables were there before you are still enjoying drinks and eating there is a problem. This establishment gets no stars but it made me select 1 to post this review. Do not go to this restaurant! The manager and staff do not match the price you will pay for less than service. There was just no excuse for asking us to leave. We keep wondering if the manager targeted us since we were gay as this happened just a few minutes after she stopped by the table to see how we were. ...
Read moreWe booked reservations for a party of 17, they seated us in the lounge/bar area and required a minimum of $1000 for our party, no big deal. We ended up having 13 people show up. Our server was nice and tried her best to make sure we had everything we needed. When we were seated we were handed the dinner menu with the dinner cocktail list, so that is what we ordered off of. After a couple of rounds we were informed that we could only order drinks off the lounge menu since it was 2 separate bars. Im not sure if the actual bar/lounge bartenders didn’t know how to make the dinner menu drinks or what it was exactly but if I’m ordering a $185 steak off the dinner menu, I should be able to order any drink I want. The assistant servers/food runners seriously lack training and it took about get simple drinks from the bar. The best food item we had was the fried rice. Skip the tomahawk, it lacks flavor even with the 2 sauces and mushroom topping. Overall this was a very underwhelming experience and being told we can’t order drinks from the dinner menu is ridiculous. It’s 22% auto-gratuity on large parties here, which our poor server deserved since she didn’t have any trained help and was the only server in the bar/lounge area. We spent a total of $1900, well over the minimum and still couldn’t order the drinks we wanted. Whoever the manager is that made that decision needs to rethink that approach. Terrible...
