As always, Dave is the best at last-minute surprise dates, and this rooftop lunch at @branchbirdfw was just perfect 🏙 It's pretty much like a secret supper club. You follow the scant signs outside Frost Tower building and in through the front doors, almost feeling like you might have come through the wrong door. The front lobby folks waved us over to the elevators and then we go up... once the doors open on the 12th floor we were transported to a very cute and boujie looking cafe/bistro! We chose to sit outside on the patio where we could get a view of downtown, and dine al fresca. We were there for a late-ish lunch, but the patio was surprisingly full with a couple of large groups. So, while service was friendly, it was a bit slow. That being said, anytime a service staff was at our table, they did not rush us and planted their feet to give us their attention 😊 Food was also much better than we expected! They have interesting seasonal specialty lattes (I had a hard time choosing), and everything on their lunch menu looked so good it was difficult to choose! In the end, Dave got a beef sandwich and I got fish with green beans and rice. The food exceeded our expectations in terms of taste and quantity - my fish was super moist with perfect texture, the green beans were delightful and the rice was buttery! Dave's sandwich was nice and meaty with lots of flavor, but we wished they served it with an au jus. All in all, we had a lovely time talking about our dreams and continuing to build this life together. It can be really tricky finding a coffee shop in Downtown Fort Worth. We stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites over Memorial Day Weekend. The place was really busy, but the stay was great. Overall, the place was very clean, quite, nicely appointed and convenient to all of the Sundance Square area. Very walkable. The staff was very attentive. Breakfast was very good. The outside seating was very comfortable and allowed for a nice breeze. We had a problem with a mirror partially falling off the wall. Maintenance fixed it very quickly. There is a full bar with a great bartender, Spencer. He took the time to recommend a number of bars and restaurants in the area. He also recommended apartments for a potential move to the area. It would be nice if organizations that cooperate with the city would keep their own political and social opinions to themselves. Although as usual, someone always has to egotistically project their opinions onto others. Also, regarding the Panther Island development, it would be nice if organizations advocated for pro-growth, no height limit models rather than trying to childishly keep downtown small and generic via NIMBY mentalities. While other downtown and uptown areas are growing throughout the country, Fort Worth continues to fall behind simply because a few people do not want our "skyline to...

Went for the Ft. Worth Arts festival...was great x and well organized. Lined didn't move very fast at food/craft/caracure drawings but w the amount of people that was in attendance, wasn't surprised. Food and drink was good and prices were decent for the festival and everything going on in our state/country. Will attend again next...
