I have a milk allergy. However, I've come to this location for the last year and have been able to order smoothie king with almost no issues. I always order the same and request a vegan substitute and anything with milk derived products be left out or substituted. Otherwise, I end up with a terrible stomachache for days. Most recently, when I go through the drive thru there is one particular person taking orders that always has an issue with substitutions. So much so, they make it difficult for me to order by their tone of voice. I even changed my orders over the last several times to order the hydration smoothies because they had no protein/milk that we could see on the menu. Today, I finally decided to order the metabolism boost ginger mango vegan again. It was a disaster. First, this same person who always deters the order complained "it probably wouldn't taste that good". Isn't that for the customer to decide? The veggies and fruit will be the same. Besides which, usually other people taking orders are happy to substitute and I've had it vegan in the past. Additionally, he made the wrong metabolism boost, creating the strawberry pineapple instead. When I questioned why the drink was pink instead of green, he claimed I ordered the strawberry one and his body language, facial expression and tone of voice was disgruntled. He said nothing, let the door shut, while my carload set there in wonder. A female worker then presented the drink and when we asked if it was vegan, she wasn't sure. He then came to the window and said he made it, but didn't specify if it was vegan or not. We ended up throwing away my smoothie, the first one made for me, and my husband threw away his for good measure. If someone has a terrible attitude and doesn't seem to like his job, it's hard to trust the food. We usually drop about $40 a week here, but after this many difficulties, it's hard to say we will ever be back. Hire some people who, even if they don't like people, at least pretend to for 2 minutes while they take an order and have integrity...
Read moreMy wife and I come here a lot for breakfast, we love the smoothies and generally the customer service is awesome. My review has nothing to do with the quality of the smoothies. I do have a problem with management. Every morning that we go to this Smoothie King, there seems to be only one person working. And quite a few customers. Drive through lines pile up, there’s people in curbside (us today) and one person is running the whole thing. As a former retail manager I can understand having fewer employees during down times, but I also understand culture and what kind of work environment you set up and a standard you set for your team. I don’t believe this store has that because although the team is giving good service(most of the time), you can see it in their face the amount of stress they are going through when you have all of these customers and they are by themselves. Today, we chose curbside pickup because we had to be at work earlier than normal and to take our infant to her doctor’s appointment in downtown Ft Worth, SM promotes “Why Wait In Line, Pick Up Curbside” (or save time, I don’t remember). After exceeding our time for pickup by 15 mins (15mins of time on I35 is priceless sometimes) my wife went inside the store to check on our smoothies. The guy working was very polite and apologetic about the delay, but also complained that “they always do this” and “I don’t know how they expect to run this store with only 1 person” and “customers always end up coming inside and complaining about the delay” and “this is my last week, I’m quitting”. In my opinion, this is not a work environment set up for success. I really hope Smoothie King addresses this because we love coming here to get breakfast, but we also like getting to work on time (or at least getting our drinks at the time their system says we will). It may sound petty of me to say all of this but we now leave our house 15-30 mins earlier than we’d normally need to, to get to work on time, because we expect delays at smoothie king. 9/10 times we experience...
Read moreI love smoothie king but will never use this one EVER AGAIN. This location is close to my job and convenient I visit it frequently with no issues… however!!! Yesterday I ordered a pineapple mango and was served a strawberry blueberry. I told them this was not correct. Instead of simply fixing the issue THE MANAGER JUSTINA became excessively rude and aggressive. She repeated that she confirmed the strawberry blueberry with me when I was ordering and that’s what I asked for, but that she would have me made what I wanted. I informed her that I did not ask for strawberry blueberry but I did ask for pineapple mango, if she could show me a menu I would reconfirm that. She became snappy and aggressive and stated she gave me what I asked for and she confirmed it with me during ordering. I do not eat strawberries so I know for a fact she was incorrect and again asked for a menu so I could confirm the name of what I did order. To this she replied I could go back through the drive through and order again. I am on my way to work and I have already paid $11 for my smoothie at this time. I told her that I would like someone else to assist me to which she replied THEY CANT HELP YOU. I asked for my money back but since I had already been waiting, been given the wrong item, paid with a debit card, was treated rudely by THE MANAGER, and needed to get to work… I took the strawberry blueberry and cut my losses, ended up giving it to a coworker. Poorest management skills I have ever seen in my life. This lady is rude beyond measure. Not sure if I will go out of my way anymore to give smoothie king any of my money if it’s that big of an issue. And to add to the topic if you order from this smoothie kind online 8/10 times they just cancel the order. Y’all need new management...
