TLDR: Terrible service. Go to Jimmy John's instead.
My visit to Jersey Mike's yesterday will probably be one of my last. Literally some of the worst customer service I've ever had. I came in with a bday coupon for a free sandwich and drink, and my sister had a coupon for a free sandwich with purchase of another sandwich and 2 drinks. They made everything and took my coupons and didnt say there was any problem with it. But after I took my receipt I saw that I had been charged for 2 sandwiches and 3 drinks, and then the $0 for a bday sandwich and drink. (Total of 3 sandwiches and 4 drinks)... When I asked the girl at the register about this (I believe she said her name was Bailey), she said that since one of the charged sandwiches had a TD next to it, that meant there was no charge. I said ok, but what about the drinks then, this totals to 4 drinks when I asked for 3. She just kind of said, ya it's a total of 4 drinks. I was going to let it go because it was only $2. I stepped away and at that point a line of other people started to form. But I did the math and was able to see for certain I had been charged for 2 sandwiches and 3 drinks. With my coupon I should have only been charged for 1 sandwich and 2 drinks. I walked back up to the counter, right next to the register and waited. All the employees ignored me. Finally I got the girls attention myself and explained to her AGAIN that I had been charged for an extra sandwich. She seemed upset but said, ok give me a second and I'll see how to fix it. But then she just went on to start taking care of the rest of the line. I understand they are busy, but it would be ridiculous to make me wait through this continuously building line of people just to get a refund. Finally I said, are you able to just give me a coupon or something? She turned to another employee, I believe her name was Jessica. She started explaining what happened. At this point they were both acting frustrated towards me, Jessica literally kept looking at me as if I was doing something rude or annoying. She finally just said for Bailey to give me a coupon from the drawer. Bailey was busy, so Jessica walked over without saying anything to me, took a coupon for one free sandwich (still not getting anything for the extra drink I guess).. and just threw the coupon down on the counter and walked away. I said , thanks.. sorry... As she was walking away. And Bailey gave me a half-hearted "sorry about that.." and went back to her other customers.
I'm sorry for the long story. I just feel really angry and disrespected. They made me feel like I was asking for too much or like I was doing something wrong. I understand mistakes happen. But if Bailey would have handled it the first time I brought it up to her, before more customers started coming in, it would have been a simple fix. And I can't even begin to describe how I feel about the absolutely rude attitude that Jessica had towards me... FOR NO REASON.
Like said. I will never be back. I'll use my "free" (paid for) coupon somewhere else and then take my...
Read moreHorribly rude employees just because you pay with $100. Which I’m sorry to tell the universe is money. Money that is good. Learning to count change is a skill in the working world. Having an attitude at a sandwich shop when you’re probably working your way to a higher career even within said sandwich shop, is not the way to go. If you’re flustered over having to get change out of a safe for a customer, maybe customer service jobs aren’t for you after all. And I’m the kindest person ever. Repeated myself 100x with no problems during the ordering process. Just to get to the end and decide I will NEVER come here again. There’s a subway and a jimmy johns in the same parking lot. And it’s about being treated right and not with disrespect that will make me angry all night and sad. Why am I being shamed for having the money to pay for my food like a human being??? I’m all for training and having and days. And I have had some bad experiences without leaving any reviews but I am tired of these places hiring anyone and everyone without considering the customer and how these employees treat you. I’ve heard horror stories and have worked fast food jobs myself. Where people throw food back in your face and we had respect for them. Which is proper. Not getting attitudes over something so...
Read moreNOT CELIAC SAFE I was super excited after reading about how the company as a whole is sensitive to the Celiac community and goes and above for Celiac customers. Sadly that was not my experience at all today. I ordered one Gluten Free Philly Cheesesteak and one Pilot Cheesesteak in a bowl with no cheese. I informed them that we were Celiac so gloves would need to be changed and nothing could touch. The employees said they understood. First they did not change gloves and grabbed lettuce with said gloves just after touching bread. The. After mentioning the problem and asking for just an empty container, I explained again that we were Celiac and couldn’t have any cross contamination. Nothing that touched bread could touch ours. At this point another employee prepared someone else’s sandwich, didn’t change gloves and started preparing our meat with contaminated gloves rendering my food un-edible for my daughter and I. Then added cheese to my dairy free daughters meat. I instructed them twice of our allergy and what precautions needed to be taken. At the end I left with two very expensive sandwich’s that my daughter and I cannot eat. Hopefully more training will be done to prevent this...
