The donuts are the only thing I have tried here and they are unique and absolutely delightful. HOWEVER, as of my visit on 3-24-21, they don't make donuts on Wednesdays. So if you are going for that, please be aware. A couple in front of us also came for donuts and left empty-handed upon learning there were none (except for one double chocolate cake variety; not the usual kind they have). I wish I had known this as I brought an out of town visitor and drove 1/2 hour out of our way specifically for the donuts. This was not the first time B's disappointed the same person that was with me: we went in early January last year only to find they had shut down for 2 or so weeks for the holidays. So based on our experience over the last 2.5 years, their schedule and available product is a bit unpredictable which is why I gave 4 stars rather than 5. The bakery atmosphere is charming and adorable, and the food (well, the donuts I know for sure) are outstanding. But maybe call first and verify...
Read moreThe smell of baked goods in the morning is the best smell to walk into any food establishment. B's did that just fine! Rustic, vintage vibes sets you off into a quant environment to stuff your face non so elegantly with baked goods. They do offer brewed coffee, snacks, ready to go sandwiches, salads other than baked goods. PLEASE BRING CASH FOR TIPS FOR THE LOVELY FOLKS THAT WORK HERE. Running your card for tips will not get them their tips. I don't know how/why the system works that way but having worked in the food industry for 15 years I have always personally felt those serving/making our food should be the ones who receive tips when given. They do close @3 so keep that in mind. Finally got a chance to try them out first thing @7 am. Street parking only at downtown.
I got a Long John, Blackberry Cream cheese muffin and Blueberry Turnover. The Long John had the perfect amount of filling as did the muffin and turnover. Was so delicately...
Read moreB's is the kind of place that will turn you into a pastry snob. Never again will you want a donut or cookie from a box store. B's apparently uses quality ingredients and awesome recipes. The other day, I had a pumpkin cream-filled donut. It was the best pumpkin-flavored thing I've ever had--better than a muffin, better than pie, better than cheesecake. It was wonderful! Their cream horns are also incredible. They taste nothing like those nasty, hard, and stale things you get at a store. And actually, I don't think you can make a bad choice at B's. Really fine baking and flavors. Their paninis are also great. The other day I had the buffalo chicken panini, and it was very good. Great flavor. I've been thinking about it ever since. The atmosphere is vintage and charming, like a bakery you'd find in one of the Manhattan...
