Absolutely Heartbroken and Outraged – Loyal Customer Treated Horribly

I am honestly devastated writing this. I have spent thousands of dollars at this restaurant — averaging over $2500 a month — and always looked forward to coming here with friends and family. But after tonight, I will never set foot in this place again.

We came in excited for a late-night bite, only to be met with complete disrespect — simply because the restaurant was nearing closing time. The way we were treated was gut-wrenching. I’ve never felt more dismissed, unappreciated, and frankly humiliated as a paying customer.

The manager on duty couldn’t be bothered to greet us, make eye contact, or show the slightest bit of hospitality. His attitude was shockingly rude, cold, and unprofessional. If this is who you’re trusting to represent your brand, you’re setting yourselves up for failure.

I have receipts to back up the amount of money I’ve spent here — loyalty should mean something. I expected a warm welcome and basic courtesy, not this shameful behavior.

Someone from corporate needs to contact me immediately. I am seriously considering taking legal action due to the emotional distress and complete disregard we experienced. Do better.

IN RESPONSE TO YOUR REPLY:

We had two drinks at a previous bar and interacted respectfully with your server. Unfortunately, she did not clearly communicate the policy regarding drinks at your establishment, which led to confusion. At the time, we were simply excited to reconnect with close friends who had just arrived in town. It seems there may have been a misunderstanding, as we were not intoxicated—just enjoying a moment of laughter and celebration.

Yes, I did choose to make this experience public, as I believe others should be aware of the service issues we’ve witnessed. Over the past year, we’ve observed a noticeable decline in both service quality and staff retention, which has been disappointing as long-time patrons.

Given the experience, we will not be returning, and there’s no need for any private follow-up. What’s most disheartening is being asked for an apology when, in fact, your management owes one to us. That response alone highlights the underlying issues contributing to your restaurant’s decline.

We wish...

It is very rare that I leave a review below four stars, let alone one star. Honestly, I'm really disappointed with our experience at Bestia Mare.

Food: The food, while good, felt very overpriced for what we received. Salad was tasty but presentation looked like something I could throw together at home. Oysters had lots of shell pieces in them and some weren't fully cut out of the shell. Our server didn't even take our entree order until we were done with our first course and the table had been cleared, so it took a really long time between courses. I asked the server if the scallops had ANY spice because I have a low tolerance and he said no - they were in fact spicy so I was only able to eat 1 scallop. I was really disappointed because I would have ordered something else and I hate wasting food. My partner doesn't like scallops so I couldn't even have him eat them instead. The scallops were at least cooked perfectly tender and full of flavor. I really wish I could have enjoyed them.

Service: Our server hardly stopped at the table, so much that I was unable to order a glass of wine with my entree, even with the long wait between courses. And by the time he stopped to see how the entrees were, my partner had finished eating so I didnt even try to see if I could get something else. We just wanted to leave at that point.

Table wasn't fully set when we sat down, which usually I shrug off, but even when we received our entrees we had no silverware (again, even with all that time between courses) so this doesn't seem like a one time issue.

Ambiance: The music is quite loud, so it's not an ideal place for anyone hard of hearing. About halfway through dinner we both began feeling how uncomfortable the wooden seats are. They could easily add cushions and it would make a huge difference.

I always give a restaurant a second chance before fully forming my opinion but I'm not eager to go back so it wont be...

✨✨🇮🇹🍝🐟✨✨ Culamar Seafood Rest & Rooftop is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience that transports you to the heart of refined Italian dining. From the moment the Arancini arrived at the table, it was clear that this meal would be something special. Each bite was crisp on the outside, warm and indulgent within, setting the stage for a culinary journey that was both elegant and deeply satisfying. The ambiance, with its rooftop views and soft lighting, created an atmosphere of sophistication without pretension. It was the perfect backdrop for an evening of impeccable service and unforgettable flavors.

The salmon, a dish I had eagerly anticipated, was nothing short of perfection. Cooked to a flawless medium, it retained its delicate texture while bursting with natural flavor, enhanced—not overshadowed—by a subtle yet rich lemon-butter sauce. The balance of seasoning spoke to the chef’s mastery, allowing the freshness of the fish to shine through. Ryan, our waiter, demonstrated an impressive knowledge of pairings, recommending a wine that complemented the dish beautifully. His attentiveness and enthusiasm elevated the experience, making each course feel thoughtfully curated rather than simply served.

To complete the evening, the risotto proved to be a revelation—creamy, nuanced, and executed with the precision of a seasoned master. Having tasted risotto prepared by iron chefs, I can confidently say that Chef Frank Pullara’s rendition was equally remarkable. The final touch, Bombolini, was the perfect conclusion to an extraordinary meal—light, sweet, and indulgent without being overwhelming. It was a dessert that lingered in memory long after the last bite. Culamar is not just a restaurant; it is a celebration of culinary artistry, where every dish tells a story and every moment feels like a privilege.

Thank you for the...

Was very excited to see this restaurant pop up in Franklin...however, will never go back! Adding receipt and hopefully blocked enough out I don't get anyone in trouble. Our server was fantastic and did tip >20% cash because they pool (and hopefully person pocketed some of it before pooling). Let's first talk about the rooftop vs downstairs...items on the downstairs menu are not available on the rooftop. When asked to make an exception, the first time management said No...begged a little harder the second time and management popped up with a song and a dance why they couldn't then after more begging says "it's not available this time of day" so couldn't make it for you even if you were on the first floor! I CALL B.S. why didn't he say that in the first place??? Otherwise I understand menus can be different for multiple reasons...food temp...etc. but to use a lie as your last play card? JS Second...receipt...WTF card processing fee? Who...what...for real? Build these costs into your food and bev costs! Martini...charging for a martini we did not order then editing with additional $3 fee? Again, ingredient usage didn't change and if anything...saved you money! Oysters were meh...a few great ones but overall they commingle them all then say here is a paper start here and go around to know which you are eating. I gave up, I am not here to play oyster map games... Shrimp cocktail...halve the shrimp and put a dollop of cocktail sauce on very dry overcooked shrimp? There wasn't even enough for both halfs and the cocktail sauce was horrible, barely any flavor and I didn't taste any horseradish at all. Atmosphere is not great. Downstairs is very bland and loud...rooftop is small and umbrella's don't even work. I love good seafood and was definitely not expecting it to be awful, unfortunately this place missed the mark in so many ways! #yolisafoodie
