Nice little 1930s style diner in downtown, and a good place to go if you're hungry. It's always been busy here when I go by but I decided to give it a shot for lunch today since it wasn't as busy as I normally see it on the weekends. I normally take more pictures but was hungrier than normal today. I ordered a bourbon Bloody Mary which hit the spot. It was very good and had a full stalk of celery in it, so that was cool too. I ordered the tzatziki dip which was also really amazing and came in a large portion for being an appetizer, the plate could literally serve 4. Also ordered the French Dip Ajous...the ajou was amazing as well, but I forgot to take a picture of it. This again was another huge proportion with extra to take home, it's literally 2 sandwiches, but the server gave me another Ajous, so I'm happy. The service and staff was good, knocked it out of the ballpark, only mild issue was the appetizer taking a bit longer than it should have, and was hoping to see a few breakfast items in their menu, but I'll definitely return to try th shrimp Po boy and crab cakes next time.

Sammy T's was by far my favorite place to eat in Fredericksburg. We ordered the grilled cornbread and Tzatziki starters at the beginning. The cornbread was perfectly moist with a delicious honey butter spread. The Tzatziki was thick and creamy, and came with a bunch of pita bread Triangles, and what seemed to be a whole salad of lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and red onion sprinkled with feta. It was the perfect light, refreshing starter (and honestly came with a LOT more than I expected). For the main course we had the Ruben (Rachel) sandwich with tofu instead of meat, and the Avocado Melt. WOW. The Ruben was so flavorful, tofu was crispy, and the rye bread tied the whole thing together. The portions were perfect. The avocado melt was another mind blow - I've never had Onion jam or horseradish Aioli, but they complement eachother perfectly. Both were such unique sandwiches, perfectly made. 100000/10 would recommend to everyone!

First time here and it was not a disappointment. Excellent service and food. The server was great, very impressed that he did not need to write down our orders. 4 different orders, and he did not miss anything. I had the gourmet burger with bacon and cheese with a spicy mustard sauce/dip. This was an excellent homemade 7 oz burger that tasted great. The spicy mustard sauce was a perfect compliment to the burger. We also enjoyed fresh chips and sweet potato fries, which were fresh and tasty. A lot of places cheat on sweet potato fries and use frozen, not these. They were hand made from real sweet potatoes. Also a picture of the camper special with bean and grain burger in a buritto type wrap. It was Huge. He said it was fantastic and very filling. We ended this great meal with a chocolate mousse. Great ending for a great meal, and great service. If you are in Fredericksburg, you shouls give them a try.

Went for BRUNCH this past Sunday Sept 21,2024. Haven’t been here for a Rueben or lunch here in years and was driving through town from FL. Decided to take a good friend who just moved to the area and this place was a terrible disaster at best! We both ordered brunch, Eggs Benedict, which is supposed to have POACHED eggs. Our breakfast came out after waiting more than 30 minutes. I know they were busy but this was 1 pm in the afternoon so well after the breakfast rush. The poached eggs were hard! If your cook cannot make a poached egg then Eggs Benedict should NOT be on the menu! We then sent the meals back and I ordered a basic breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast. My friend ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich. Neither of these meals are hard to make. We waited another 45 minutes and the meals were not made a priority AT ALL! The people across from us, that came in well after us, not only got their meal but ate all their food and left and we ere still sitting there. Our iced teas were NEVER refilled the entire time and our waitress could not be bothered to come to our table, apologize for the shitty service or tell us even when our meals would arrive. She managed to give us a “side eye” look when she walked by and continued to ignore us. I am very generous when it comes to writing up good food places because I know how hard the restaurants work but these employees couldn’t have cared less that we were even there. I am so angry about this visit because I really wanted to show my friend the area she moved to had some great eateries. We will never come back no matter how good their Rueben’s once were! This place should get no stars but at least they know how to brew iced tea which a toddler could do. We left the place leaving $6.50 on the table which is far more that the iced tea even cost and far more than this restaurant deserves! Shame on the staff, shame on the manager and owners for NOT taking care of customers even on a busy day. The waitress actually seemed put out to be waiting on us. The hostess seemed distracted and less than interested in being employed and everyone else ignored us. OH we also ordered a side of the breakfast potatoes and they NEVER came out. I don’t even think the waitress ordered them. Never again. They are lucky to get the rating I gave them. Get new owners, managers and staff because this IS NOT the Sammy Ts I know and you...

Update: Turns out, this place isn't as great as I thought. I came back with my family a few weeks later, and our waitress was awful (possibly the worst I've ever had). She seated us and then took our drink order, then proceeded to completely ignore us for the next 45 minutes. Not even an acknowledgment that we existed. She took orders from other tables near us, and she walked by our table constantly, yet never even stopped by once. After watching her help several other tables I finally made eye contact with her and even waved at her, and she looked at me then walked the other direction. It was clearly intentional, and we have no clue why she decided to do this.

I ended up having to flag down another waitress and asked her if we could order. She said "I'll let your server know you're ready." Several minutes later, our server (I have no clue what her name was but she had lots of tattoos) had still not taken our order, so the other waitress noticed this and walked over and took our order. Unfortunately, she either didn't write it down properly or the kitchen messed up, because they got my sandwich wrong and they didn't even bring out one of our side items.

I figured that our original waitress would at least stop by to see how our food was, but that never happened because she just didn't care. Someone told us that she is normally in the kitchen but they tried bringing her out as a waitress. It seems like she needs to stay in the kitchen, because she has no clue how to be a waitress.

Here is my old review which is irrelevant at this point:

This place is great. The service was excellent, the food was also very good. I ordered an unsweetened tea, chicken salad sandwich, and french fries. Everything came out quickly and tasted great. I don't come to Fredericksburg often, but this is definitely a place I will...

Unfortunately me and my gf have decided to try this restaurant as a last resort to find a place that still serves food after 10pm on a Friday night. The host was very welcoming and even let us pick our own table which was outside. We sat down and the waitress took our drinks order and left, I stoped her cause I changed my mind and wanted to go with something different. She end up coming back and asked for my ID which I provided. Before she left again my girlfriend asked her why didn’t she card her too (jokingly) so She pulled up her ID and gave it to her, considering she just moved here from a different state her ID was voided but she also had her passport and the temporary VA DMV ID. Latter a manager ”I assume” showed up and asked for my gf’s ID, we explain the situation to her and she was still consisting on showing her other documents that proves that my GF is in her early 30s. Remember, WE volunteered to show them the ID in the first place when they didn’t even care to ask for. I asked her why is she doing this when she should be dealing with the fact that one of her servers was about to serve two beers to two costumes whiteout being carded. We gave her the DMV papers which she didn’t even seem to read. I know people got to do their job, I own a restaurant business and what this “manager” was doing was just simple harassment that late night “managers” get to do to prove that they got some fake Authority. If the server had a problem with the ID she should have said it to us so we could have provided other documents instead of embarras us in-front of other customers, plus we OBVIOUSLY don’t look under 21! To top it, after we decided to leave, the “hostess maybe the manager?!” Start schooling me on how to run a restaurant and the fact that I should...
