BABY SHOWER for my daughter on August 10th. I had to order enough food to meet the minimum. I had 23 adults and 1 child; For two hours the cost was $1,187.88. The person planning this event left the restaurant prior to the date and I was given another contact who only emailed me one time prior to the event. The food was horrible, I wasn't given any choice in sandwiches, and it took them a long time to refill food. The desserts I paid for (brownie bites, cheesecake bites, lemon bars) ended up being some cinnamon swirl bread and a few macaroons thrown on a plate. I was also charged $25 for a cake cutting fee, but I told them twice we decided not to have a cake as we had to order a large amount of desserts to meet the required minimum. We ran out of sandwiches mid-way and I went to talk to the General Manager and told him I paid for 32 guests, which is what I told the event planner in the beginning, and he did bring more sandwiches out. When I called a few days after the event to discuss my disappointment and to get a credit back at least on the cake cutting fee, I spoke to Shelby (who was wonderful). Shelby stated that the sandwiches and desserts are subject to whatever they have available that day. NO ONE TOLD ME THAT. The pictures in the venue brochure look nothing like they did in person and far from the same items. The only thing I heard from the guests that tasted good was the devlied eggs. When I went to get one I was told they were all out of deviled eggs they couldn't put any more out. I paid for 2 dozen. Shelby said she would discuss it with the General Manager and the Chef and get back with me. I told her to take a couple of days and I hoped to hear back from her soon. I never heard back. BEWARE OF WHAT YOU'RE PAYING FOR vs WHAT YOU GET. Also, my guests purchased items in the store and were interested in booking the venue in the future. I will only have one baby shower for my daughter and sadly this venue disappointed and did nothing to remedy the situation. I wish I would have taken pictures of the food, but I was so busy hosting the event I didn't have time nor did I...
Read moreWent in with 2 kids and 2 adults for my daughter's birthday... We liked our server. She was doing her best, but lots of errors.
-Informed server we're vegetarian but received chicken sandwich in tea tower, which they fixed later. No big deal.
-Very slow getting everything including the check and to go box for leftovers (not a huge deal but after the experience of everything else being slow, it's a bit frustrating)
-Tea is supposedly included in "Tea service" fee but we were charged for 3 orders of tea even though we had 1 kids tea service and 1 adult tea service, and a 3rd teacup add on, while the 4th person had water only. (No sugar or honey offered or available with tea, which tasted like nothing but hot water. You can get better tea using store-bought tea bags.)
-Online menu says tea service for adults is $30, but we were charged $45! And tea (which should have been included) was an additional $4 per person even though we paid for tea service for two out of four of us.
-Kids tea service is supposed to include lemonade or milk but neither was even offered, and without a proper menu to look at to know for sure what to expect, I didn't know any better till I got home and looked over why my bill could have been so high.
-At time of payment, I was shown a total but not given a breakdown of pricing otherwise I would have noticed the over-charges for the tea at least.
Food was otherwise just fine. Server was apologetic and said they are short staffed, but it's not appropriate to give your patrons a poor experience AND over-charge on top of that. Not very satisfied with the experience given the expectations set by the website. They really need to work out their pricing and service. I tipped 20% only because I know how hard the job is...
Read moreLooks cute, but definitely not worth the price. We got tea service for 2, the big Tex grilled cheese, charcuterie board, and the golden girl latte.
First off, they are severely understaffed. We waited 10 minutes just to get our order taken. We then waited over 30 minutes for our food. When our food finally came our tea service didn't even have the deviled eggs. Add on an additional 10 minutes for the deviled eggs.
Big Tex grilled cheese - a grilled cheese with bacon, how could that go wrong? This had maybe two slices of bacon and two slices of cheese. Tasted like toasted bread with a hint of bacon. Came with stale potato chips.
Golden girl latte - for $6, it tasted exactly like McDonald's coffee.
Charcuterie Board - this was pretty good however they do not give you enough bread for the amount of cheese.
Tea service - for $30 a person, this is not worth it at all. Out of everything I hated the tea service the most. The black tea was so watered down you could barely taste the tea. When they say "fresh fruit" they mean 4 blueberries and a strawberry cut in half. The egg salad and chicken salad sandwiches were dry and mostly bread. The cucumber sandwich had a disgusting amount of cream cheese. Completely inedible. The pimento sandwich tasted fishy. The macarons were sickeningly sweet and the biscotti tasted like dry wall. Lastly the deviled eggs we waited an extra 10 minutes for were overwhelmingly sour, also inedible. We told a waitress we were missing our deviled eggs and she said "oh yeah you are" and proceeded to walk away.
I wrote this review in the 20 minutes we waited for someone to give us the check. Their iPads were "down" and apparently their system auto tips 18%. Just something to think about before...
