Authentic, Bold, and Unforgettable — A Must-Try Indian Dining Experience
From the moment I stepped into this hidden gem, I knew I was in for something special. The aroma of fresh spices, the low hum of sitar music in the background, and the warm, inviting atmosphere set the tone for what became one of the best Indian meals I’ve had in years.
Service: Our server, Pukr, was exceptional — attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being pushy. He offered great suggestions tailored to our taste preferences (mild for me, extra spicy for my friend), and he nailed every recommendation. His genuine warmth added so much to the experience — it felt like being hosted by someone who truly cared about food and people.
Management: I also had the chance to briefly chat with DP, the manager, who clearly runs a tight, passionate kitchen. He spoke with pride about the ingredients they source and the dishes they make from scratch daily — and it shows.
Food: • The Chicken Tikka Masala was creamy, smoky, and deeply flavorful, with perfectly charred tandoori chicken. • Dhba murg was fall-apart tender, swimming in a sauce that was rich without being oily. • The Garlic Naan was crisp on the outside, fluffy inside — addictive. • We also tried their Mango Lassi, which was thick, refreshing, and a perfect cooling contrast to the spice.
Final Verdict: If you’re craving real Indian food — not just generic curry, but layered, lovingly prepared dishes — this is your spot. With standout service from Pukr and passionate leadership from DP, this restaurant isn’t just good, it’s memorable.

It is a small but well laid out place. Must be wheelchair friendly too. The entrance felt a bit cramped though because that is where you need to stand to place the order but there is hardly place for two to three to stand.
Dishes - well, frankly disappointed by the Texas portion size. Way too overpriced compared to other restaurants outside Texas (and even within from what I gather). $17 for a large portion and I doubt it would serve 2 like they said unless you are there just for the sake of eat to review. The place offers takeout as well as dine in. Kids portion was a good size
Medium spicy was no spice to my pallette and I eat very little spice. Yet, to each their own taste so all I can say is yes, you can choose spice levels. The menu card is interesting - so you do get a range of options via permutations of protein and sauce or you can go straight to the predefined items.
Taste - i wouldn't say I am bowled over, but it is good enough to pass off as Indian. The spices, and the gravy bring you home. Gravy in Paneer curry appeared a little too watery; Kofta is a little smaller than a mini golf ball but tastes good; Biryani was good; rice is boiled just right; naan and roti - I would say they are good. The place has potential. It just needs a cook who knows what authentic Indian taste is like. For the most part, current Roti Grill, in my personal opinion, would pass off a general India cuisine test. It will take an effort to get passed off...
Read moreWe dined here last evening with our family, we were greeted quickly and given great service! They have a lovely outside patio area. We ordered two plates of Tandoori Shrimp, they were prepared well, nicely spiced and juicy! We were recommended to get some masala sauce on the side and that was a great pairing with it! We also got the mixed tandoori platter which was plenty of food and arrived steaming hot. We tried the special lamb shank which was tender and full of flavor, with a very generous portion. The chicken tikka Kathi roll was seasoned well with plenty of onions and peppers in the pillowy wrap, this was served with fries and those were crispy and piping hot. We also had two baskets of Roti and garlic naan, these were an excellent accompaniment to our meal served hot and were soft and chewy with the right amount of crisp from the tandoor. We were also brought two plates of papads with flavorful chutneys, these were a perfect addition to the table as they were making our dinners! We did have a couple cocktails as well. We all loved the food and the service was top notch. Paresh warmly welcomed our table and spent time chatting with us as well. We arrived as guests and left feeling like friends. This is a great addition to The Star and a place we plan to return to often! While we are getting a lot more Indian restaurants in the Frisco area this one offers traditional flavors with top...
